Why cant they just stay and upgrade the same shit, instead of reinventing themselves with a new gay skin?

Definitely not investing in microcuck stocks.

Looks like Linux has been getting a lot more traction given that retail consumers want less AI.

if you think microsoft is valued on fundamentals, it's not...its valued on the fact it is 1/3rd of the backdoor the US has into almost every company and government on the planet

Steam polls show Linux has been gaining popularity.
We're reaching the point where Linux will (finally) overtake Windows. About time.

It's officially over for Microsoft. Guess I get to learn how to use Linux... it's time. It's well past time, I've been a M$ dickrider for too long.
>>
>>61933465
The only time linux will get any sort of mass market appeal, is if it's one-click-deployable an can support a 40 year backlog of programs written in archaic language for a 1980s sweedish computing machine.
Half the lathes on the factory floor still run XP.

>>
>>61933482
>>61933491
>>61933512
The average person just uses the OS as a bootloader for their web browser. They just see windows as that annoying thing that nags them about updates and tries to shove AI down their throats. If you put linux on someone's PC and gave it a windows theme, they probably wouldn't notice any difference besides maybe that everything is a bit smoother and doesn't have ads or AI bullshit anymore.

Important service announcement!
To all the winfags in here:
Download Kubuntu.iso or Zorin.iso right fucking now.
Copy it to a USB stick using rufus/balena/ventoy.
Boot into the live version and notice you don't have to use the command line and pretty much everything runs flawlessly.
Permanently install afterwards to completely replace windows.
Live happily ever after.

This post has been proudly presented to you by a /g/ fag.

Gaming on Linux is fine, for me it’s specific creative suite stuff that won’t work on Linux (UE, FL). Music production in particular sucks ass on Linux, otherwise I’d have jumped ship ages ago. Then again if UE could run inside Linux it might be enough to get me to just learn Bitwig. But having to dualboot for UE makes it not worth learning a new DAW.

Gaming is fine though. Proton is a goddamn miracle.

New generations could easily be controlled by Linux, accept the same files etc.I work at a place where we build electronics, mostly industrial stuff. I'm seeing Linux everywhere, Raspberry Pis too.

board of directors are all in on AI and want it stuffed in everything.

a country undergoing early capitalism usually gives customers more choices in the market thanks to competition and lack of regulatory capture, but late capitalism is an enshittifying/feudalistic dictatorship of a few dominant corporations that impose fewer shittier options to the consumers.

Windows hasnt been Microsofts main revenue source for a long time now. They dont care about pc users anymore, their entire company is designed to suck out money from PC users so they can deploy it to their cloud server side of the business (where they actually make money). Windows has been dead for almost a decade now. It will be replaced, and microsoft wont even care, even though they should.

>>
>>61935708
If people aren't running Windows then Microsoft won't be able to harvest their data and they won't use their shitty cloud programs.
So yes, Windows is still their main revenue, it just isn't the OS license fees specifically anymore.

The server business isnt the same as their cloud business retard, not even close, and if it were you might be right but again, either you misread or youre retarded. Microsofts server side of business sells to businesses, not end users. That is by far their most profitable portion of the company. Windows is a leg for microsoft, cloud is an arm, and servers are the head.

I get better performance on Linux than I did on windows. Anyone that plays games on pc already has steam anyway too, proton integration is ez it just works.
>>
>>61936039
Yeah it can be you dumb nigger, it's called choice overload
A million different choices without clear differences and use cases for 99% of them sucks. It's like looking for something on Amazon and you get 100 different chink results, whereas back in the day you would have gone to the shop and they'd have a cheapo option, a standard option and an enthusiast option. All these different distros hinder adoption, of course you freetards wouldn't know anything about human behavior

The mistake retards like you make is thinking that we care what other people do. Why should I care if someone else uses Windows? I only care about having as many options possible so I can choose the one that works best for me (arch, btw).
>>
>>61936191
The numbers are high, but the games it's missing are popular ones with anticheat, think Battlefields and Call of Duties. If you don't care about that then chances are your game runs, with most but less running perfectly.
