Nah. Russia and China don't want to start real beef with the US over Iran lol.
If a real war does break out between the US and Iran, Russia will probably use the opportunity to fuck up Ukraine since the US can't help as much.
And China could move to attack Taiwan in some way.

It turns into a 3-way war. Not really a world war.
US vs Iran
China vs Taiwan
Russia vs Ukraine (more than currently)

The US wants to avoid that, because China taking Taiwan is a bad trade. So the war likely won't happen. Iran is a pawn, Taiwan is a bishop or a queen. Bad, bad trade.
US doesn't want to have to attack Iran and help defend Taiwan at the same time. Putin would almost 100% use that to seriously fuck up Ukraine.

Wars against cultures don't work unless you genocide the people of that culture.
Unless two countries have shared culture, the only metrics for "winning" an offensive war is one completely slaughters the other, or one occupies the other for a period of time and drains it of some resource.

Completely slaughtering the people of another country is off the table for a modern western countries, with one exception obviously. So all the US can really do is spend a fortune on the optics of "winning" while draining its own resources and clout. None of our involvement is in the interest of US citizens. This is 100% our politicians being captured by another country, and they don't care enough to be subtle about it.
