Yea well I own a small private company and I say it is worth 800 trillion borillion gazabbaziklion infinity dollars so my fake valuation makes me richer than Elon.

How many people live in areas like this in the developed world where they don´t have access to 4G? Are niggers in the Congo jungle going to pay 100 USD a month for Starlink? The product has a clear ceiling that none of the guidance for the company is accounting for (a common Musk trait ofc).

>>61943381
Musk got like $30k from his dad for an internet startup with his brother in the 90s (about $65k today), flipped that into tens of millions of dollars when they were bought out, and then repeated that with Thiel and Paypal before founding Tesla and SpaceX. He was early to industries that bubbled and boomed no less than twice, which is in large part responsible for his wealth. He's never worked hard enough to actually earn nearly a trillion dollars. He was lucky, and of course, as a good capitalist, worked others to the bone for his valuations and compensation. He slept on the couch in the 90s so everyone has to sleep in the office for him now, despite not actually owning the company. That's how he sees it.

>$30k from his dad for an internet startup with his brother in the 90s
yeah I doubt it was 30k only but anyway the difference being that 30k back then is a lot and that if I lose my 20k I don't have a dad to save me it's literally all I have, to buy a house or something, my dad works as a street cleaner we don't have money. My dream would be to start a company in the US but I don't see this happening ever.
>>
>>61943375
I think it's awesome.
>>
People get mad at billionaires but they’re same people who made them wealthy. This was all consensual, and you gave them money because they provided an invaluable service. I couldn’t care less about his wealth. You could seize every dollar, and assuming it didn’t collapse whatever faith remaining in our market economy, it wouldn’t even cover half of our federal deficit spending this year.
>>
>>61943916
^ Also this. Just didn't feel like typing it.
>>
There are far richer people than Musk but you only care about him because he is a media clown and is listed in Forbes goy magazine.
>>

The point is, you need to start a business, ideally in an emerging industry that will boom later, and be successful enough that others will buy you out, and keep doing that until you have the capital to do what you really want. That's the Musk lesson. You're highly likely to fail absent those circumstances. Being a good engineer doesn't necessarily mean you'll be a good businessman too.

>>61943916
>This was all consensual
It's all consensual until people try to build alternatives or refuse to do certain things and then it gets ugly. Why does the bourgeois love democracy but not in the workplace? A true riddle of western society.

>>61943947
Musk is headlined because he built successful companies. He's everything our society wants to promote. Financiers don't like attention, after all. And they hate competition.
>>
Musk will go bankrupt in 2026
>>
>>61943952
It’s really insane how many people out there hate Zuckerberg but are always glued to Instagram. Just stop using it.
>>61944061
I’m unsure of what you mean. Companies and industries are disrupted all the time, especially when they become complacent. But are you talking about socialism or something? The Soviet Union collapsed on its own. Socialism has been tried, it doesn’t work. If you want to make capitalism less cutthroat, make it so that people who work 40 hours a week can afford rent, food, and gas for their car etc. then I totally understand that. But this socialism stuff is a fantasy. Go look at how Venezuela went from being the most prosperous South American country to on the verge of collapse without us doing anything until much later.
>>
>>61944294
Would you short sell Tesla?
>>
>>61944378
Capitalism has been made less cutthroat only when influenced by the threat of socialism. People talk about marxism, communism, socialism today like it's a imminent threat, but it's a bogeyman. If the powers that be were actually worried, they might throw us a bone and compromise here and there. As it stands, they effortlessly crush unions and shit down our throats.

Also, if your business plan is to be a disrupter, good luck to you.
>>
>>61943916
Yeah I consensually paid taxes that got funneled back into his green credit trading scheme
>>
>>61943375
That is a valuation. He doesn't have $841.5 billion. What he has is a credit line to $841.5 billion, which is flexible, at practically zero interest rate.
I'm not sure how I feel about such wealth. What I am pretty sure of is that worldwide wealth has grown in cadence. A trillionaire in a world of billionaires is not really so different from a billionaire in a world of millionaires. This wealth gap is not unprecedented, he's just first to get to that number.
I'm also pretty certain, if there has to be trillionaire, it's better him than his contemporaries. He doesn't hoard wealth, he builds more businesses and takes on more risks, and in the process make many more people rich.
>>61943676
The tech is not just aimed at people who live in a jungle. It is for people who need to roam, and may incentivize more people to do so.
There's also the transformative power of internet access itself. Remote areas are no longer remote, because Starlink (plus a battery) could potentially fill multiple infrastructure roles in one fell swoop. The jungle will no longer be the jungle.
>>
>>61944482
All the past stability of the US was part because people were told that the system was fair. That those who work hard will get wealthy and those who don't wont and deserve to be poor. Being poor? Just work harder and you'll be rich in no time. It has been called a fair game. Now people start to question this believe, that has been indoctrinated decades ago.

>>
>>61943786
>Musk got like $30k from his dad for an internet startup with his brother in the 90s (about $65k today)
How many people in this world had that same privilege or better, yet still didn't start companies that could land rockets or make cars that drive themselves?
Success is complex because life is complex, and the inclusion of luck or privilege does not somehow invalidate that success. Out of all the people in this world, he was the one to do it. It could have been millions of others, but it wasn't.
>He's never worked hard enough to actually earn nearly a trillion dollars
Most of the wealth in this world was created by people who wanted to work less.
>>
>>61944457
Not socialism necessarily, but populism. That’s what fucks shit up, and it’s why Trump, Bernie and Mamdani terrify the elites. Elites aren’t scared of some 20-something year olds talking about dialectical materialism, they’re scared of the masses being swayed by people who say “we’re going to crash the system”, which then leads to results. Everything is going as planned.
>>
>>61944962
Who the fuck is Mamdani?
>>
>>61943392
Yeah that's cute but he can manifest billions in cash
>>
>>61944953
I'm not invalidating his success, it's undeniable, but it's also not complicated. He's cultivated a mythos about himself rivaled only by the dearly departed Steve Jobs. He's also a loudmouth who's made big promises with little to show for them.
>Most of the wealth in this world was created by people who wanted to work less.
By making others do the work for them. I would further argue that it's impossible to work hard enough to earn a trillion dollars because it's literally not how our society functions.

>>61944962
Populism is the retarded cousin of fascism and Trump doesn't scare anyone, his entire purpose is to mislead and dissipate a movement that could potentially conjure a real opposition to the two party system. Everything is indeed going as planned.

80% of it is fake inflated wealth. Almost all the 1%r wealth is. That wealth comes from financial trickery, games, corruption, and stolen tax payers money. It’s all a series of over-inflated over-valued snake oil bullshit listed across thousands of spreadsheets backed by little more than the made up over-leveraged debt slavery of the American goycattle.

It cannot last, and the bubble will pop just like it did in the previous 20s. You can only run an economy on lies, trickery, smoke, mirrors, and bullshit for so long.
