The economy as it is right now works in a way where they've given up on allowing the free market to properly exist and instead it is generally understood that there's a necessity of keeping the system working above everything else. This means that the people responsible have a commitment towards keeping the system afloat. Which has some very similar qualities to how socialism works. Any type of duty towards a greater good, which is how the economy has been adapted to work post 2008, is in itself a way to shelter people from crises that took place in the past. In the process, however, the free market has become less free. Or not even free at all.
