I've decided to invest my life savings into oil and defense ETFs as well as btc. what am I in for?

Looking for a dump-free stock

I never understood etfs, are they for retards? You look in the holdings and its just the big name corporations, you could just invest in them individually if you would like.

You can't pick the correct allotments and rebalances which are all done automatically and professionally. You will lose money trying to do so. The er is negligible typically.

ETFs are basically the tradfi version of smart contracts
>>
>>61947371
They're just mutual funds listed on an exchange

Right so are the fees and charges generally worth it?

Plus they are leveraged X3 some of them like DFEN
>>

the fees and charges are typically a fraction of 1 percent I'd say it's barely even a point of consideration
>>

So what are the downsides of investing in etf's instead of traditional stocks?
>>
>>61947482
if you're trying to be the worlf on wall st ETFs are not as good as individual stocks

Lack of control over the allocation. Each ETF has its scheme, if you want to buy exactly what that scheme is doing (e.g. "mimic the S&P 500" or "mimic the DJUSDIV
" then an ETF or mutual fund is great. If you want to do something else, like invest in stocks where the sum of the letters in the ticker is a prime number, then you're gonna have to do that yourself.
It's also perfectly legal to mix and match, I've got ETFs, mutual funds, and individual stocks in my portfolio.

Is that another metric I should consider when determining buy signals?
