Transocean is back in the spotlight because they acquired a major rival.

They own drillships.
These things tend to print money when oil prices are high enough to justify exploration.
The market completely crashed for these things in the last decade. Ships that cost hundreds of millions to build were idled and then scrapped. Insane capital destruction.

Anyway, if you believe oil is going to make a comeback, this could pay off a lot more than an oil stock.

Transocean doesn't own drill ships, they just operate them for companies who lease the rigs from rig owners for big oil companies.

You probably shouldn't be investing in this if you can't even do some basic research about what Transocean does.
