100k to boomers was the same as 500k to zoomzooms. Boomers are just too dumb to understand inflation, since they rode asset inflation and pensions and were insulated from it, and therefore still think it's a good salary because it's what they were still making when they retired and when they began their careers it was well above average but not by the time they ended their careers.

What you only need 6 months to pay for a degree? Why is everyone whining?
>>
>>61952426
Gen Z is extremely brainrottted by social media influencers to the point they think you need to be a multi millionaire to be considered successful in life
>>
>>61952694
Because America is full of weak, retarded, lazy, entitled losers that have no grasp on basic mathematics or financial responsibility.
>>
>>61952551
So boomers relative to us had to work only 1/4th as hard to get a house as we do today. Holy crap, life on super easy mode and still some of them messed up and are poor
>>
social media broke zoomers minds

they think they all deserve to make 300k working remotely and get to live in 3000 sq ft homes and go on vacation to japan every year
>>
>>61952781
If your home isn't 3000 sq ft you might as well just buy a double wide trailer instead. I don't understand people living in a 1500-2000 sq ft """house""" (actually a cuckshed) made with materials that are just as low quality but still acting proud that they're not in a trailer.
>>
>>61952820
Owning a bigger home than you need is a financial trap that lots of retard normies fall into.
>>
>>61952726
The reason why they are so dumb. Lazy brain on the naturally gifted and the dumb ones who couldn't survive today did.
>>
Wow, are zoomers actually that retarded? They should probably turn the phones off lmao
>>
>>61952625
Have you even tried sleeping in your car on property that wasn't yours? I have. It fucking sucks. You need to stay far away from people and out of sight otherwise you'll get fucked with relentlessly and feel very SEEN. I didn't have cops bothering me, but I also was able to park where I had previously kept my car for a few days.

If I had parked at a mall or a walmart I probably would have had cops knocking on my window telling me to get lost.

Not to mention, if you run out of gas or your car breaks down you're double fucked, because now your home is immobilized on the side of the road where anyone can fuck with it, and you! Good luck getting anywhere after that, you'll quickly find yourself promoted to proper homeless soon after it gets towed with all your shit in it.

If you weren't part of the top 10% in 2025, you're lower class
>>
>>61952694
That column is retarded. It just takes the price of the degree and divides it by the median yearly graduate salary.
So yeah, it takes 6 months if you somehow spend zero money and do tax evasion.
>>
>>61952426
>fake degree
>rent
>have mom pay for car
>buy from amazon
Easy.
>>
>>61953943
Well I guess am lower class then.
Still own a home, have a wife and a kid and a job I enjoy.
Won't be retiring early anytime soon and can't spend retardedly on trips to whatever place is trending on instagram, but I wouldn't say life is going too badly desu.
Things aren't that bad if you don't live in the few cities everyone and every immigrant tries to move to.
>>
>>61952551
>4.6 home price to salary
don't look at the Australian numbers, they make that look normal
>>
>>61954359
Australia is fucked because it is basically America's urban areas but without the gargantuan rural core that absorbes some of the damage. Everyone is just stacked in the few small areas.
Same goes for Canada which also has some of the worst House/Salary ratios out there IIRC.

>need a job
>anything that pays well requires you to get an apprenticeship that pays you to learn a trade
>you have to pay 22% federal income tax, 5% state income tax, 7.65% social security and medicare tax except on the under the table work you do fixing HVAC systems on the weekends and also the first $20k is tax free
>15% of my income is gone

>need a place to live
>you need to go into debt for a mortgage at 6% interest to buy a duplex
>you have to pay 1% of whatever the government decides your house is worth annually in property tax in a normal tax locality, but at least it is deductable on my state and fed taxes
>mortgage company requires that you have (((insurance)))
>luckily the guy renting the other half of the duplex is paying 75% of my mortgage

>need a car,
>Wait til there is a recession and get .9% financing
>have to pay vehicle registration fees, (((insurance))), to drive on roads that are falling apart because taxes don't come close to paying for them

>pay 5% sales tax on anything you buy in a normal state; 0% on groceries

You would think speed running the collapse of the American Empire, established circa 1991 with the fall of the USSR, would maybe clue people into the fact that the unfettered corruption called free market capitalism isn't a sustainable model for nation building, but it seems not even do Americans not realize this but they actually attribute their successes to adopting openly corrupt economic systems and believe electing even more corrupt dictators will somehow fix the situation
>>
>>61954905
It all makes sense when you start from the basis property and money were a scam

that's why you can't feel bad for them. let them all rot in their parent's basement. don't hire them unless if it's for minimum wage. bonus points if you can layoff their sugar daddy or guardian so then it spikes up their cortisol levels.

the social contract is broken

work hard, graduated in the top half of your class, go to college, graduate, get a 60k/year job

go to a lender and ask what you can qualify for on your 5000/mo salary... they say 36% (1800/mo)

look at homes on the market, they're 420k for the MEDIAN home, and rates are 6%

the interest alone is 2100/mo, and that doesn't take into account property tax (1% = 350/mo), home insurance (100/mo), or required equity payments (420/mo)

that's 2970/mo, which means that the wife is required to work as well, she would need to make 40k/year to qualify for the mortgage on the house

both parents have to work to afford a home, and even then they're not living comfortably

if they want to have a kid they will have to incur additional childcare costs, which is why women are waiting until 30+ to have kids now, because children require a dual income household with mid-career salaries now

and this is for the upper half of the graduating class... the bottom half is completely shut out of owning a home

zoomers are right to reject all of this
>>
>>61952820
If you have a family sure, but if you're a single asocial man, what do you need 3000 finished sqft for? I'm keeping my eye on the 1500-2000 range, which is a range for an average master bedroom, at least two guest rooms (one a dedicated gym/one a dedicated hobby room), and plenty of closet space for various junk. My first rental for a year was an 1100 sqft dingbat, 2 bed/1.5 bath, and while I deliberately avoided unpacking most things, easily ~400 sqft went unused.
>>
>>61953943
JUST IN: 90% of that demographic are baby boomers and their net worth wholly consists of home equity.
>>
>>61952426
>all of these figures are well above the standard western median
oof
>>
>>61952820
Nah, it's not really the house size, but lot size and zoning. imagine you can only have 1 house on your property, and can't build one for 3 of your kids with a huge buffer to next door niggers.
