My boomer parents, along with my extended family, have been freaking out over the Ai shit and telling all of us that there's no point in going to college for anything except "Ai". I guess they think LLM ownership is an actual degree plan. They straight up are discouraging any white collar jobs because of it and its pissing me off. They believe all jobs besides plumbing are going to be obsolete. I cannot talk about my career or financial plans around them because they're too blackpilled.What is a good rebuttal for this? They're not helping me through college because they think engineering is on its way out. I really don't know what they expect me to do other than kill myself. (I won't, out of spite.)

My financial advice is coast on free rent as long as possible. If you're going in-state to a public university (no reason to do anything else with engineering) then the loans are really not gonna be that bad even if you have to borrow your whole way through.
