I didn't contribute to my employer 401k at all when I was 22-29.
I regret all retirement contributions I made at that age because I'll be dead by 50
>>62012203I would contribute if they matched me even a little bit but they don’t so no point when I can throw my own money in whenever I feel like it.>>62012206Don’t say that Anon.
>>62012208they match 100% up to 4% of my income but I didn't do it because I was too lazy to deal with the stupid group retirement portal they use
>>62012214Well that was stupid of you.
>>62012214I started when I was 25, and immediately opened an HSA because my employer contributes to that too. Its FREE money
>>62012203Don't worry. There's a very real chance the government will fuck with retirement accounts in the future. Confiscation is not off the table.
>>62012206This but 40, maybe earlier. No point in living like a fossil.
I didn't have a 401k until I was almost 30, but it's a 100% match up to 10% so it pays quite well, I could cash it all out early and it would still be worth it
well it's a scam so that makes sense
>>62012203Start now and you'll still be ahead of 90% of other people.
