If you want to DIY then you have to learn at least: -3d modeling (Blender or a professional CAD software)-Enough about electronics to plan and construct DC/DC converters, BLDC motor controllers, battery controllers and various sensor types-Programming (Getting into Arduino is actually sufficient for most of the above stuff)-I would look at cameras, AI, etc as a seperate system from the robot body-You don't have to get into motor design at first, but at some later point this will become necessaryThe tools to start:-Blender or Autocad for 3d design-3d printer (FDM for structural parts, resin for small parts)-Later on when your parts have to be metal, a CNC mill and a lathe-For electronics: Oscilloscope, Multimeter, variable DC power supply, soldering iron, heatgun, flux-Kicad for electronics designThats just for the basic DIY setup. If you got money and live near some bigger city, it may be wise to find some like minded people to complement your skillset. This is a full time hobby if you're serious.
