What happens to home prices these next few years? Should I dump my hoomer bags?
>>
Considering the cost of doing so, I'd say no.
Housing for the past 10 years has roughly stayed in tandem with inflation.

I'd say be on the look out for refinancing your mortgage if you have one when the fed rates drop.

This. Housing prices aren't going down anytime soon especially when boomers entire net worth are tied to their house and that Trump made it known that he is keeping prices high for a while.

Sure but the property I have in mind needs about 15% of its overall value in repairs

Also the foundation had settled and is slightly uneven, with a crack on one side/wall of the slab

And although there are piers installed, it can never be fully lifted. Does this not take some value off the top?

they know what they got, no low ball offers
>>

I'm seeing some crazy cheap offers pop up - like 40% off cheap - in my area.
Yet homes are still selling rapidly, just some of them have massive price cuts.

Depends on whether you need the money now or not, more and more homes need extensive remodeling. Probably half of them do in my area.
15% of the overall value in repairs? That would actually be considered normal now.

>Listed for sale for 250k
>Doesn't sell
>I KNOW WHAT I GOT!
>Holds onto house for 3 years
>o-okay senpai, I'll shave 50k off, please?
>Still doesn't sell
>Fuck it, 40% off
This pattern has been happening in my area. Not even in DA HOOD or anything, close to town.
Just as an example, other house I have open in the other tab is a hood house.

Small town new york all our prices seem to be shitting the bed completely. Like a McJob could get you a house in our area in 5 years.
