Euro here, I commute to work 2km on a bicycle. Never driven a car. I saved a fortune, missed some fun. Inflation is still gonna hit, but at least I dodged that massive bullet.

What do you do to save money?

I am going by bus. Same. Time since the city is undrivable at the mornings and. Much cheaper.

>>
>>62015679
Nope, I'm married to a beautiful woman six years younger than me. I'm also 35 and have zero health problems (no back problems for instance), despite a computer job. And saved a lot of money.

>>62015686
>>62015687
Would you consider cycling? Or too far away?
>>
>>62015674
where do you live so i can emigrate and claim welfare?
>>
>>62015693
1. Poland
2. You can't migrate
3. You won't receive welfare, and if you could, you'd starve.
Migrate here if you plan to WORK. Welfare is if you work hard but break your leg, that's what it's for.
>>
>>62015695
how niggerified or arabified is to the rest of the EU?
>>
>>62015696
Not much. But it's changing rapidly. When right wing immigrant-hating party was ruling we had the biggest influx of migrants from MENA countries, especially Muslim. Because right wingers are compulsive liars, in every country.
Now that centre-left had taken over the trend slowed down, but didn't stop. Especially now that we're in G20
>>
>>62015688
Too far and dangerous, there are no cycle roads here.
>>
>>62015688
>Would you consider cycling? Or too far away?
Cycling depends on the weather. Also I had a knee injury and couldn't cycle for 1 year because my knee was stiff. Cycling advocates never think of the people who can't cycle for health reasons. They need motorized transport. I used buses in that year, and walked longer distances to/from bus stops.
>>
>>62015674
I live in peru and can commute by bicycle now, too. Thank you euros!
>>
>>62015674
>What do you do to save money?
No subscriptions, no netflix, no cable tv.
No debt, no interest payments.
Live in my own house and pay no rent (large downpayment, paid down the small mortgage within 5 years)
Drive an old car, have never bought a new car, always buy used (with cash) and keep it for a long time.
Rarely go to restaurants or bars, mostly cook at home with fresh and healthy ingredients.
Do not order stupid shit online. Never order food delivery.
>>
>>62015752
Do you live in Miraflores, or Villa Maria del Triunfo? Those are the only places I've seen bicycle paths in Peru.

Ah yes, those were financed by Germany, I saw it on the page of our embassy in Lima when they were built. I hope our ambassador gets replaced soon, she's on a permanent holiday visiting all the nice places of Peru on our tax money.
>>
>>62015763
So you are german? Nice, thank you very much and please don't replace her.
>>
>>62015756
You are me.
I have bought and old house and renovated it totally on my own over the course of 5 years.
Saved probably 200k.
>>62015674
I cheat. I have an ebike. This is hill country here and i am very tired after work. 8km 250 m climb.

Additionally:
10 chickens. Eat table scraps lay 3-4 eggs a day feed is 20 bucks a month in winter.
We cook a lot with the instant pot. Throw the stuff in the instant pot at 10 pm or whenever you have the time, set timer. Finished meal at 1pm. or 2pm whatever it keeps it hot.
Also I have planted a ton of fruit trees and berries, of which I am now starting the reap the rewards. Jostaberry/Greengage/ quince are my best successes in zone 7b.

Why even bike? The fuck?
>>
Euro here, live in the capital of my country. Only ever driven my parents cars who live in a small town. In the capital i’ve never needed a car and i have never missed anything because of it. 72€ a month and i have unlimited transportation to anywhere in the metropolital region. My car owning friend says i’ve saved 10s of thousands of euros.
>>
>>62015995
It's true. I spend 400€ on Diesel+Insurance for my car a month (~70km a day) Add 200€ for intitial Price + Maintenance. So 600€ to drive a shitbox to a place i hate and do stuff i loathe for net 2500€ a month. I'm a NEET now, because it's fucking stupid to live the wagie-life in this dupsterfire
>>
>>62015995
And how much You spend on rent? Or do You live in Your own? I have my own house in rural hilly part of my country, commute 30km/day by car and insurance included I am like 100€/month. It still comes cheaper than renting in capital.
>>
>>62016150
The ”city tax” at my city is like 1,5% lower than in my small hometown, i’m a high earner so that taken into account the rent really isn’t that high considering all the amenities i get from the big city.
>>
Imagine being so poor that you “save money” by restricting your ability to travel to a few miles while being exposed to the elements. Sure seems peasant coded

I enjoy seeing bikers dealing with rain in freezing temperatures while I casually drive by in my heated leather seats listening to music on my surround sound system. Maybe today I will take a casual hundred mile drive just to go see some sites, can’t imagine having to deal with shitty slow public transit just to do something so basic, but bikers have no choice.
>>
>>62015724
Holy shit, are you Bizzaro America?
Left....being good?
Right....retards?
>>
>>62016236
There is also the moral question. Public transport simply releases a lot less carbon emissions compared to driving your own car
>>
>>62016236
I see it from another perspective: Cycling keeps me fit, exposure to weather keeps you healthy and resilient. We're going to need a lot of strength where we're headed
>>
>>62015674
car and rent are the biggest money pits. try to avoid them. no car, live with parents (if possible), not eating out, no retarded vacations
>>
>>62016397
>live like a poor person and never experience life just to save money

Man it’s like biz is filled with people who can’t
Make more money, it’s far more effective to just make more money than try to save nickels and dimes by hiding in a basement and never doing anything
>>
>>62016860
consoooming = living
yeah you cant make this shit up
>>
>>62015674
How do you manage the sweating? Pedaling a bicycle requires a significant amount of effort. Don't people in Europe care about getting sweaty before going to places?
t. thin faggot who can't walk two block without getting his armpits sweaty, sex is out of the question for me, fugg
>>
>>62016860
You can do everything in a big city in europe with just public transport. Plus you'll get that bonus feeling from knowing you live morally righteous, taxing the ecology less. There's no reason to waste money when you can easily save a lot of it. And honestly, fuck dealing with trafic, it's much less stressful just using modern high quality public transport.
>>
>>62016878
Europe is colder. Except southern europe, don't know how they live.
>>
>>62016878
pedalling a bicycle at commuter pace requires next to no effort
before you start with "what about hills"
my commute has 200m of hills in 10 km and I would need to have two broken legs to struggle with it
>>
>>62016236
The automobile industry will teach you to take pride in your weakness, sell you your cage, and convince you it is freedom.
>>
>>62016913
>only 200m of hills in a 10 km trip
Where do you live, anon? Pride Lands? I find that hard to believe, even cities have uneven terrain. I bet you euros sweat a lot but you all collectively pretend nothing is happening and/or use perfume/cologne to conceal the BO
>>
>>62016939
Kek you just described the american spirit.
>>
>>62015674
Same. Never driven a car, I've been working for 20 years and I'm 40 so I've saved a fuck-ton. Remember going to month long trips to the tropics in my 20's when all my friends were dirt-poor students.
>>
>>62015679
How does sucking dick save you money anon? Elaborate please.
>>
>>62016236
You are fat. We get it.
>>
All the cyclists in here need to go back to /lgbt/

How do I save money?

Eurofag here. Czech me out:
> live in 400k city, nice neighbor
> I have no car, use public transport
> only work from home, because I can, the office is over 30 min away and I hate people around me
> no subscriptions, no netflix
But
> wife has a car I pay for (bought it, pay for gas, service and insurance)
> I pay for her public transport pass
> she drives it to her job that is 1 bus stop (3 min) from our home and drops our kid to school that is 2 bus stops (7 min) the other way on the same line
> I pay for most of our groceries and all of our food delivery and restaurants
> I pay for most of our vacations (every year 2 weeks abroad, multiple 2-4day cabin rentals)

I fired the garbage company and got a trash compactor. Now I put a loaf of garbage in the trash can at the bus stop for free.
>>
>>62015674
I live with my mom. No rent payments, no utility payments, and I get to buy all the food I want on her credit card.

Downside is I have to run errands for her and put up with her.
>>
>>62018755
Honestly based
I do the same thing except I just dump my minimal trash into my neighbors bins
She's a senior and they're always 75% empty
>>
>>62015674
In Europe you could probably get by with 250cc motorcycle that gets 100 miles per gallon. But anyway, I drive a 500cc motorcycle that gets 60 miles per gallon when I feel like saving on gas. I'm about to go run an errand on it right now.

Why are Germany so cucked?
They pay so much in taxes just to finance bicycle lanes in a foreign country and immigrants?
What is their end game?

>>

>>62015674
Unironically be gay
>no kids
>financially responsible husband with whom I invest together
>no nagging roastie toastie wife who always begs for new furniture or other stupid "Keeping up with the Joneses" kind of shit
Life on easy mode, desu.
>>
>>62016906
You realize that humans sweat in the cold too, right?
>>
>>62015995
I will gladly pay for my shitbox of a car in order not to see any nafris or negros in my daily life
