they make their money through arbitrage between the spot price and what they offer, but it was a little over ten percent, and it took them nearly two weeks to process the sale because they were scalping so many people.
>>
>>62017826
I did sell a few big bars at 55 :(
I had to pay back a loan from earlier in the year that I used to buy said bars plus a bunch of rounds :)
I didn't "time" it perfectly (who can aside from some insiders when other variables aren't in play?), but I did basically get silver (money) for free (a few finger clicks to and a trip to the bullion bank).
>>

>>
>>62017845
They weren't scalping shit unless they were selling faster than they were buying

At 2 weeks lag time they would have been still buying at $120 when it was only worth $70
>>
>>62017846
I mean this is just it fren anyone who sold at a high was just lucky. Ppl coming out of the woodwork saying silver sucks again and they all sold at the highs, bullshit.
>>
>>62017865
no, you don't get a price the day you turn in your metals, it's when they actually open your package and process the deal. So the risk was entirely mine.

Question for everyone as a relatively new stacker:

Is it okay to leave coins in those sleeves like what you see a lot of the coins here in >>62017800's post long term? I had a dream about three months ago where I dreamt I, my younger brother and a lot of other people had parked our cars on an icy lake, but the thaw came and started to melt the ice, I managed to just in time get my car onto solid land, and saved it, but my brothers car and all the other cars sank into the lake.

No one in their right mind should be trying to short something this volatile, yeah it can drop to 3200, it can also spike instantly to 5200. Gold is a beast unlike any other, when it wakes up the ups and downs of the ride can rip your face off. You can hold on, but betting against it is suicide.

Nah that's u.

For anyone who is freaking out right now because they thought they were buying winning lottery tickets, look at pic related.

First the price dropped to the mid term support level and then dropped to the long term base before starting to go back up, it was a 30% correction.

>>62019165
And now today, history doesn't repeat but it sure does rhyme. A move up from a big base, not quite 84% and now it's correcting to the mid term support, eventually it could go to the long term base of $3400. This will be way more than a 30% correction, but the peak put in an exhaustion double top like in 2011 and the correction is happening 3x faster than normal. This will be unlike anything seen before, probably a 40% correction which might then rebound just as fast.

There's a lot of big players involved now on both sides of the trade, the volatility is going to be epic. You do not want to be caught with leverage on either going long or short, the big guys will flush you out.
>>
>>62019178
"History doesn't repeat but it does rhyme" is a psyop phrase that was flooded on social media these last few years. History absolutely does repeat. Mark Twain was a faggot and a talentless hack.

We have a combination of an oil war, a tech bubble and a credit bubble all at the same time. This has not happened before in modern history and it's playing out way faster than anything before due to how fast information travels these days.

This is new.
>>
>>62018964
I agree that gold has the potential to drop further (I'm guessing ~30% max unless it's forcibly pushed further with an absurdly chaotic/deflationary event), but I also can't imagine it not hitting 8k+ in the next 2-3 years.

>>62019178
If the covid dump & pump taught us anything, then it's very reasonable to guess that the swing back up will be violent.

>>62019181
So we're seeing Gold go exactly 84% in just under 2 years while there's a credit bubble that's going to be popped by issues in residential real estate? Cool it with the autism.

Fair enough. But civilizations rise, and civilizations fall. Humans in the end won't make it out of this. Really hard to say, gold usually doesn't bottom out until the stock market has a serious crash and the market has barely gone down.

I keep having to remind myself on the fundamentals, it's so easy to get lost looking at the price action thinking it's 1973 or 81 or 2008 or 2011.

Going back to the real estate/gold ratio, gold should have a deep correction until it's value is back to 250 ounces or less for a house unless there is a major paradigm shift of some kind.

>>
>>62019294
The chart goes back to 1890.

I don't see a world where people take a handful of gold over a somewhat productive asset, at least while there are gold mines still producing. That's one part of the equation that people don't consider, new supply hitting the market and at what price they can make good profits at. Miners 'short' the market to secure high prices for their future production.

All of this is speculation and emotion. And the big boys are playing the fuck out of it. It looks like they're not letting up on the shorting tonight until it's back down to $4000. They want people to freak the fuck out and panic sell everything.

Also since gold is a risk asset right now mirroring the stock market, you can be sure about what's going to happen tomorrow when the market opens.

Well it's been good knowing you and shitposting with you all
I am sorry things had to go like this, frens. But this is not the end but a change that's very much needed. Jewsa is burning everything they have to prop up the petrodollar now that it's completely dead.
They will burn metals, stocks, indexes, futures, bonds, every commodity they have and even themselves to prop up the dead petrodollar.
I stock up in metals that hopefully they will be enough to weather this storm. I hope you have enough yourself, I really do.
Perhaps we will see each other again when the prices has moved to SHFE and metals are valued in yuans as reference instead of burger shekels. Prince won't ever recover in burger shekels. We will have to wait until it goes up in another coin. Then we can reap our harvest, IF we didn't had to eat all our seeds during this "winter" just to survive.
In any case, it's been fun and remember to gas the kikes. Peace and prosperity can only be achieved through TOTAL KILE DEATH
>>
>>62019319
Nigger with what industry? They barely make a handful of them a year and with the economy crippled and supply lines fucked up then won't be able to make any.
Heck, jewsa depends on china for rare earth minerals and chips are made in taiwan. To this day the burger (((MIC))) still depends on chinese components to build shit.
And then also who the fuck would be selling physical silver at this rate? China already made it illegal to export it without government approval and only two or three companies can. Meanwhile they have been snatching every PMs floating in the market.
I believe it was for january, the biggest export of jewsa was gold. You already have nothign left to build your shit rockets anymore.

With gold I'll never understand anyone selling below their buy price. It doesn't even make sense, just hold it, it always goes up compared to cash in your account.
>>
>>62019489
Correct. Worth noting however that where gold goes, so too does silver. 50 weekly EMA is in play this week, at $58. Afterwards, it's likely going to $250 later this year.

I've overlayed the Covid sell-off and inflation driven rebound on top of current market conditions. I think this will be our base case, we could see even higher prices like $10k+ gold and $300+ silver.
>>
>>62019454
I bought 95% of my silver at 14 tEURos, and some at 22 EUR. Also most gold pre 2023, and then less, so not much will happen to my value, still in plus. Current big drops are corrections and fake, just for some time, it should backlash soon as the world FIAT sustem is very much boubbled up (see pic related for Europoors) Dollar is even more worse but has it´s tricks to keep standing. Same boubble with Rubles, Pound, Zloty etc. I checked some time ago. You can search "Money amount", M3 or M2 or M1 + the currency you like to know, similar curves like mine pic will show up. So cold blood, keep holding stacks, it should return back go up, we are now at rollercoaster part, I think. I will buy next week or this weekend when got some money as work is less last weeks, just did some small jobs, year just started, still cold here in DE.

I am only in silver too a bit to have some flexibilty not only hording gold. After WW1 Goldmark was the thing to survive a 84 years old customer told me (he passed away 2 years ago), another 82 years old told me similar in 2001, so I started buy gold back then. That's what happens when you buy during bull runs/instability. What used to be common sense is now heralded as blasphemy by crypto retards who FOMO'd into precious metals that were NEVER meant to make you rich, only meant to be an hedge against inflation.
I bought most of my stack 2013-2018 so I'm golden since I already sold at 97/oz. Anyone who tells you to buy "cheapies" during these times is just a retard. You buy when the price is stable for 6+ months. You "buy the dip" only when you can buy 2-3 million of paper of the stuff so that even a couple of percentages of difference will make you a year of a random person salary, not when you can only afford to buy a couple of tubes.

Now it makes sense if London is involved. These people will stop at nothing to initiate their ww3 anti-christ summoning war ritual as outlined by Albert Pike.

They can drain the entire system of gold and silver and protect their personal supply/reserve without the public ever knowing. Consider their gold and silver a black market untraceable.

Rember anons, no matter what riches are here, we cannot loose our souls as material possessions mean nothing if our souls dont belong to God.

The crash isn't over we're getting close to April's delivery date. Then coming up after that is May. COMEX is already getting desperate and recently released an advisory that contract cash settlements are now strictly going to be done at a 1:1 ratio for what the metal's worth at their own discretion. Not only do you have to worry about JP Morgan and BofA tamping, you also have to worry about Jane Street doing rigging too.

The casino is running out of silver to gamble with, things will get weird. Don't know if it will result in negative prices like it did for oil, but it's not out of the realm of possibilities. Look at the discrepancy between Chinese silver prices and Western. It's always a 10-20 dollar difference.

Unfortunately I couldn't even work back then but you got me curious about price history. It's interesting to see 2-3 times in the past 30 years where price really went up and then substantially down. Very clear and obvious spikes. I guess many didn't look at the history if the drop is genuinely surprising them.
Back in December I saw someone use Elliot Wave to predict a drop in price from sometime in January through to July, but then a rise to a new all-time-high from July to November. Seems to be coming true so far, though, that was based on what was considered current info then.

I unironically think he actually bought a couple pm's at 120$ and he's broke and salty af now. In India you get broke with so little
>>
I'm curious fellow stackers, what kind of premiums do you guys pay and, if you're willing to divulge that, what country are you paying those premiums in?

I'm in austria, pic rel is the premiums I pay. As you can see especially on smaller units the premiums are pretty fucking steep - there's no tax in any of this btw, while silver is taxed here, gold is not.

Are these premiums fairly standard or is it higher than where youre at?
>>
>>62023373
Parking wealth there makes sense, it's just odd to me that there are those who are surprised by a plunge after an incredible new high. Has there ever been an asset that only goes up? I sure haven't heard of it.

The last batch of 1oz rounds I bought from my LCS here in the states had a flat $3.25 premium, which would come to about 4% at the time. For the kook, a coin, there was a flat $7 premium, so around 9%. Some coins have higher premiums on average, like ASEs, but it looks like you're paying a bit more than I am here. And yah, premiums on any fractional bullion are always ridiculous.
>>
>>62023466
canada here. i see silver 1tox maples with about 10-12% premium. Gold 1toz maples under 2% premium. 1/4toz gold is up a bit more but barely.

no sales tax on either here but we can get hit for capital gains selling.

That's dumb though, silver and gold have an intrinsic value so dumping the price would just let those who pay attention buy up even more before they do the digital currency shit.

i can see how producing and moving smaller units is more expensive and theres more of an overhead but 40%? FUCK. ME. I'm buying gold in bars from now on, and maybe occasionally a silver round or sovereign if i want something more visually exciting

>>62023466

If you are using gold as a complete collapse hedge there are lot's of advantages for smaller amounts.
If you find yourself in an actual currency collapse situation and a barter economy, having SOME amount of small PMGs is easier to trade than your 1kg gold bar.
But yeah, if you ain't collapse maxxing bulk purchases are the way to go.

He's being lazy again. During last years run up, especially in the last few months of the year it was quite common to see 50+. It's a good indicator that metals will rise as his posts increase.
>>
>>62023696
Exactly. So when (not if) the USD burns up in an inflationary conflagration, where will the world turn? Not to some new Fed vapor coin. Nobody trusts anybody. But everybody trust gold and silver.
>>
>>62023696
Yea, guess the scenario I am talking about is actual global financial system collapse. Those countries use USD because it's the current world reserve currency. The scenario I had in mind when making that post was an actual system wide collapse.
Stuff that's not really realistic, but still having a bit of small denominations just in case might be worth it.
>>
Honestly if it weren't for welfare limits I wouldn't have bothered with PMs. The stock market returns more and procuring/storage is a pain. I worry about being robbed every day.
>>62023705
There are like five different reserve currencies.
>>
>>62023696
you can use gold almost anywhere outside the west (where most people who work in stores have zero connection to the store and know nothing about real trade). sure they like USD for paper currency but gold has always, always, been used too.

Gold moves with the general market when a big crash is coming. This is best illustrated with the dotcom burst. Gold surged in 199 right before the burst, went down with the market but recovered by 2002 as opposed to the S&P which too over 10 years to fully recover.

Lol. They will make you rich if you don't trade like a retard. PM and PM miners are one of the most undervalued asset classes/groups across the board. In a world dominated by fiscal irresponsibility you'll keep up by being in an asset that maintains wealth (it's a fucking rock) and still get the gains from them no longer being undervalued.

You're more likely to win the lottery than beat the SP500 as an indipendent trader. Precious metals will always only be an hedge unless you're already rich and can buy millions of the stuff to speculate.
You're not rich by gaining 20k in fiat during a bull run in which you didn't sell.
>>
>>62025889
It's definitely more of a slow 'n' steady approach on the much safer end of things, but when I first found my way to /pmg/ there were also many posts highlighting that part of taking the safest approach was stocking up on other necessities.
But there were also others posting proof of their other assets alongside PMs. Fortunately I had time to do research and take advantage of other methods. Was a great feeling waking up to a project's new ATH which put me in the position to add hundreds to the physical stack. Still, I do wonder what 2026 would look like if money printing had never happened and dollars had stayed 1:1 backed by something.
