>zoomers and millenials complaining about housing affordability >build single family houses in an abandoned K-Mart>they go for 300K eaWould you buy them, /biz/?
>>62021127>street lights>with a roof already full of lights
>>62021127300k is too expensive and prices millenials and gen z out.
>>62021239What about 100k then?
>>62021127just bulldoze the kmart and build the houses?>Grass wont grow with no sunlight, same for plants/trees etc>Cars are going to fume the place out, its going to stink of everyone's cooking>One house fire and everyone is dead This is a retarded idea
>>62021301>Grass wont grow with no sunlight, same for plants/trees etcAll plastic. Upside: requires only some occasional dusting off, that's it.>Cars are going to fume the place out, its going to stink of everyone's cookingOnly electric vehicles are allowed. All others have to park outside.>its going to stink of everyone's cookingVentilation. How do you think did the mall work before?>One house fire and everyone is dead Requires some fire-proof materials and emergency evacuation and hazard isolation protocols and mechanisms, also ventilation (see above).

Creative idea, but not realistic. Theres not a single place where I can see the constraints of building within a building helping you. Whatever you were to save in real estate is going to get murdered by logistics and design, including building code. Your architect and engineers would be very, very happy about the technicality cost you would pay
>>62021449Lol just this list right here, managing the tiny slice of the hurdles identified, would kill the profitability. Do you know what the cost is to have an engineer build a set of plans that he's legally liable for just to address the fire situation?
>>62021127>houses have roofs with guttersfor what purpose?
>>62021127not going to live somewhere where assholes park on the sidewalk
Maybe it could work if it's more like an RV park? You just buy a small plot and set down whatever you've got. Have utility hookups for each spot. You could use anything from a shed to a big boomer RV. You're protected from the elements so anything should be fine. Don't know the legal side of things though.
>>62021127I would only move into such a neighborhood if it was heavily diversified. I want to see multiple ethnicity and diverse religious groups in my future neighborhood. It is imperative that my white children grow up surrounded by a plethora of brown and african cultures. My wife also loves diversity and desires to be surrounded by men of color in her walk-able city. It is important for her mental state that she does not feel threatened by white male christian patriarchy and our children will not grow up espousing nationalist or pro white views.
>>62021127with better venting yes, and there better be a big ass lawn out back with well maintained fields
Theres a reason these things get separated into self storage units and NOT living quarters
LMAO!!! Boomers will literally do absolutely anything and everything to address the housing issue except allow lower prices on homes.
>>62021127Just do pic related. Make it law that any office job should be remote - exceptions should be given only to essential workers :)>but I want a houseThe new supply of apartments will make houses of all kinds cheaper everywhere.>>62022462I'm pretty sure boomers will be against that since it will increase the housing inventory.
>>62021673That's a weird thing for 2 different people to have the same thoughts on.
>>62021739There's certainly a legal loophole or two somewhere. Like don't call it residential or find a commercial exception that's renewed every month or whatever. Interpret all applicable regulations in your favor until you find something that flies.
>>62021153Guessing it's for a movie set?
>>62022993But then there would be light reflections on all the cars
>>62021449You’re comparing ventilation inside a store to open air?
>>62022673No it isn'tYou aren't one of us
>>62021449>get to smell the girl next door’s braps until you die of exposure to methane and carbon monoxide
Wow it's just like my burgerese backrooms videos.
>>62021127>meepmeep>outta the way byitches
>>62021127Why not demolish the building first? Tahdah
>>62021127The scale is so fucked. Ceiling tiles are usually 2'x2'
>>62021301Why are you so fucking stupid? You don't tear down the entire building. You build walls and units on top of each other and rent them out to people to live in. But to actually have people living in these massive buildings they need windows with ventilation. Who knows, the prime demographic would be for people okay without windows.
>>62021127>be me in 2035>living inside a giant ex-K-Mart with my neighbors>Bob across the street fires up his bbq grill again>carbon monoxide and shitty coal fumes fill the K-Mart>entire neighborhood beats Bob to death for violating the HOA covenants>tfw you can never grill in your own back yard because of noxious fumes
>>62021127>houses are expensive>why don't we build an expensive house inside of a bigger more expensive house?Literally what tf are you smoking OP?
>>62024249>You build walls and units on top of each otherBruh, the foundations and lower walls aren't designed for all that extra load.
just turn it into the most dystopian apartment complex to ever exit
>>62021127>be living in K-mart section 8 housing>driving to aisle 42 to pick up some milk and meat>it's sketchy aisle due to all the graffiti and dead animals >see group of joggers calmly walking in my direction of my car>here them scream at me about where the watermelon and chicken are at while flashing knives and guns >just say fuck and ram them with my car>joggers jump on my car hood and they get impaled by my front window>window breaks due to fatass jogger smashing it and the glass impales my face>bleed to death and get fined $6 millions my HOA for bleeding in public
