One time I left my door unlocked to take my dog for a walk for like not even 20 minutes and when I got back somehow my apartment was robbed in that time and I lost everything (wallet, phone, computer all stolen) and had to go to a public library to cancel my credit cards and change all my passwords and as I was using the computer I looked around at the other people there utterly confused as to how they ended up using a free computer at a library like I had to have the most horrible thing happen to me and basically hit an emotional rock bottom losing all my stuff to end up at that library and the rest of them were just... there. anyway it ended up being a neighbour who was spying on me and knew I left my door unlocked and apparently had staked my place out before which made me uncomfortable but I got almost everything back.
