Obviously there will be a bounce but all the structural issues are still there and the long term oil price is going to go up due to the infrastructure being destroyed. War is long term bullish because the war spending will continue no matter what, which can prop up the market even if oil prices are high. Additionally all the market manipulation is effectively the same as price controls on oil which have long term effects, but the price controls are kept in place as long as they are needed, which is for the war. Basically I anticipate that the real price of oil will only be discovered after peace is declared, until that happens they are going to keep it artificially low.Taken together peace = small bounce, then crash, war = small drop, then long term bounce as war spending makes up for lost consumer spending. The reason high oil prices kill economies is that it becomes too expensive to justify doing any normal economic activity which grinds things to a halt, but the government and military continues to operate regardless of how expensive it gets, so all the spending that stops at high energy prices can be made up for by government spending.So yes, I think peace is bearing, and war is bullish, it is just that it is inverted in the short term. If they actually do peace the consequences of the war are all going to be released upon us and what has happened is going to screw us. If they pass that $200 billion additional spending bill the flows of money will likely prop the market up.You have to remember than there were signs the market was going to crash before the war started to understand this.
