Now exclude Africa, India, and China. Where does that put us?

You can't put a dollar value on living in a 95% White America. That's the real American Dream.

Why the fuck is owning a new car quoted at 900-fucking-thousand dollars.
180k for an annual vacation?
Fine, you baited me. You win.
Dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen.
>>
>>62053181
2x cars + insurance + gas + maintenance can easily equal over $1 million over lifetime.
>>
>>62053212
180k for aggregate annual vacation over your lifetime.

>>62053218
A new Civic is what, $26K? You would have to be a turbo retard buying a brand new one every couple of years to reach $900k

How is owning a new car 900K ???

30k Civic, swap every 5 years. 60 years of owning cars / 5 = 12 Civics.

When you sell each Civic, you lose 10k in depreciation (I checked, at most), and let's say 5k in bullshit - dealer mark up, insurance, oil changes, whatever. So your Civic retains 15k of value.

12 * 15k (trade in cost) = 180k + 15k from intiial Civic you had to buy new = ok, 200k.

Let's say wife too = 400k. This article is bait.
>>
>>62053516
>swap every 5 years
Do normalfags really?
>>
>>62053059
Like 70% of that is predicated on having a wife, if you don't have a woman suddenly you don't need yearly vacations or a $900k car or have children to pay for or need healthcare. With a good job you can save up enough to retire by 45, live it up for 20 years and then eat lead at 65.

This is a self solving problem as 60% of young men are forever alone and women have completely disappeared up their own asshole.

Boomers would swap new cars every 3 years , before they hit 100k and turn into a pumpkin . Median car sales price is 50k . Interest rates vary but can be as high as 7% .
Roughly 15 cars till retirement , 750k plus interest and insurance , taxes , gas , repairs/ maintenance. 1.5 million per lifetime easy.
>>
>>62053590
Stop, I can only handle so much bait.

“For years, automakers counted on Americans to buy, on average, a new car or truck every three or four years”
This is before 2010.

My mom gave me her car and I’ll happily drive it for 30 years, it’s nice. Also $40k for a single wedding is nuts.
>>
>>62053276

Considering real inflation how much does a new car cost in 20 years etc..

This is the American Dream chart. No one dreams about picking up men in their $30k Miata, they want to pickup chicks in their 911 Turbo.
>>
>>62053516
Just drive a tacoma for 30 years
>>
>>62053520
Some do, yea, but a modern Civic will last 5 years with literally oil changes and maybe tires and pads once.

>>62053590
This is the idiotic approach even for normalfags though, but yea, I guess if they are financing every car and not going for a Civic, that makes sense, with a huge but.

And that but is that they are no longer middle class. Even a new car, any new car, is a luxury, and by definition not middle class.

>>62053709
You will enjoy /o/, but the reality is that at some point the reliability issues become not worth it and you have to swap out everything to keep it running, nor will it ever be the same in terms of cosmetics. I have literally redone full suspensions before, so don't c/o/me at me with wrenchlet shit. If you pay mechanics...yea, yea...might as well get new.
>>
>>62053739
I mean yea, lately there is that.

>>62053766
>>62053838
I mean those are the only used cars where it really does just work for 30 years. I can do everything on a Miata short of an engine rebuild in less than a day, and I do mean everything, probably clutch too.

Just keep in mind that can =/= should. If you work a good job, and have to drive kids to school in the morning, go work, and then work on your business, getting stranded or sitting under your car picking apart rusty bolts with LiquidWrench (fuck PB) / heating isn't really on the agenda.

There is a miata thread on /o/ at the moment, go read it if really bored. But yes, you could run it to infinity with minimal expenses if you don't let it rust.

This is literally the funniest fucking image I've ever seen. I'm actually laughing out loud!
