My mom wants me to send her my resume so she can help me get a job and show her friends/family connections I don’t know.

I’m hesitant because I’d rather get a job on my own merit and it just feels pathetic to have my mom getting me a job in my mid-20s. And if I did how would my future boss not think I’m a massive loser he’s only employing as a favor? What do you guys think?
>>

Ask your mom for the email of whoever she wants you to get in touch with. Tell her you're a big boy and would like to reach out on your own (your mom can still talk to them about it)
>>
There's literally no other way to get a job retard
>>
>>62076008
She already contacted all of them on her own though, she wants to send the resume as like a final push.
>>
news flash. you are a loser and even your mom thinks it.

call every electrician/HVAC/construction etc. contractor tomorrow and ask if they are taking apprentices. You will wake up in your mid-30s and you will be a man and your mom will brag about you to all her friends.
>>
>>62076010
There's nothing wrong with working for family, what matters is if the job is decent.
>>62076011
also good advice
>>
>>62075995
Fuck your pride and ego, take the dam help

>diving into trades this late when everyone is already gold-rushing it
Gotta buy the rumor, not the news man. By the time he's into it it'll be like how computer work has gone from the obvious choice to a hellscape over the past decade or two.

Healthcare is where the money's gonna be at, lots of people getting older and most places aren't just flooding nursing positions with immigrants anymore. Be whatever type of hospital tech instead and you're good.

There is literally no reason to focus on a job if you don't have one already, especially if you are already halfway in your 20s.

We are at the point where A.I. is doing most of the jobs already

My estimate is 5 years from now only 5% of the population is still working

It's only a matter of time, starting to find a job now will be a huge waste of time

Just be comfy and chill and wait for universal basic income

I'm in the same boat but i'm almost 30 and my mom keeps nagging about me getting out of the house or getting a job or going to college even, I tell her already that she has no idea what kind of world we live in now a days and how everything she knew will end
>>
it's funny cuz when I asked my mom for help she told me to fuck off because it was 'too hard' and then went on another cruise with her second husband. Many such cases.
>>
>>62076034
None of that is going to happen the elites will starve us every single day I regret not holding my UNIcoin make it stack and selling when it got down to 2 bucks whne it went to 50 bucks just a few months later.
>going to college
Yeah your mom is retarded to tell a 29yo to take out loans, but if she was to pay for it you could be the boomer on campus.
>>
>>62076011
At the risk of giving away too much personal info, I’m in law school right now so she’s asking lawyer relatives/friends if I can intern with them this summer. I’m not dropping out to become an HVAC technician
>>
>>62076044
Dude are you kidding? You’re in law school and a relative (happens to be your mom) wants to try and help you with whatever connections they have? This is networking, this is the fast track to employment. You need to be doing this yourself as well, so get real friendly with whoever momma introduces you to. The job market is hell without any connections. If it hurts your ego to have mom’s help then fine, you’ll have to build whatever network/relationships you can by your own gregariousness. Takes a lot of effort to do from scratch, but outgoing people do it all the time. Just take whatever help is offered to you, whether it leads to anything or not. Thank her later if it leads to something.
>>
>>62075995
let the goyim deal in the real world
>>
your mom doesnt respect you as a man and as a human being, thats the main issue here if you ask me. I would rather be unemployed than having to take a job like that. you will be in your 40 or 50s one day and you will look back on your life and will realize that everything you build "yourself" was basically because someone else gifted you every single opportunity. you did nothing on your own, your life was meaningless.
>>

>Nooo you have to be a wage slave!!!

Good goy
>>
who cares
you'll forget how you got your job a month later. Literally doesn't matter.

Refusing help is profoundly stupid
>>
>>62075995
That is really cute anon, she sounds like a sweet loving mother. Do you mind posting her big sweet droopy milkers for us please? And do humour her attempts to get you a job, she just wants to help. In fact this is known as the Ben Franklin effect, where by allowing her to help you increase her investment in your life outcome. This can be valueable down the line when your tendies become cold and you need someone who can turn on the over to reheat them. Godspeed you little animal.
>>
>>62075995
You should do what she's saying. It sounds like you're just making excuses to avoid getting a job. If you're worth your salt, whoever hires you won't care that your mom got you the job in the first place.
>>
>>62075995
Hi anon, welcome to the job market. You can go into it alone and get a shitty job, but all the good jobs are held for family, friends, and people you know. I got my job because my sister was well liked by the old lady that owned the company. Now I'm applying for a government job and the only place that gave me an interview is where my other family member works. Even if they're not putting in a good word for you people you know can tell you where they are actively hiring and not just putting up jobs because they have to and don't intend to fill. Good luck, stay in good terms with family, friends, and coworkers so they can get you jobs. In wageslavery the term is "networking" not "help".
>>
>>62075995
>I’d rather get a job on my own merit
That hubris will be your downfall. Life is a humiliation ritual, get with it and you'll succeed
>>
>>62076044
If you really want to be a self made man, drop out of law school and teach yourself law from the library. Otherwise, it’s too late to grow a spine about self-reliance now. You chose the career path where success and failure are based on connections, now you’ll have to live with accepting a kind gesture from your parents. The horror!

>>62076530
Employees with connections tend to be better anyways. Much better odds rolling the dice on Debra’s son than to pick up a random stranger based on a piece of paper with AI generated qualifications.
>>
>>62075995
If you look at survey data, the percentage of people who get jobs through somebody they know is huge. That doesn't mean nepotism. Rather it is more about getting word of new openings and also having someone inside a business vouching for you not being a piece of shit. It is very expensive for a company to hire someone who turns out to be lazy, stupid, dishonest, or unreliable. So it is totally rational and efficient to hire someone as to whom the business has some assurances beforehand from somebody who knows them. You should absolutely be spreading the word through friends and family that you are looking for work.
>>
>>62075995
Let her help but be engaged, say you'd like to see how she forwards your resume and ask her for extra advice. Learn while you can, show love while you can. One day she will be gone and you will wish you had talked a lot more to her. Not just for yourself, also to make her feel appreciated.
You have 0 idea how much she loves you until you get your own child.
>>
>>62075995
is this you?
>>
Absolutely go for it, merit only exists after you've accrued some work experience. The first thing is getting your foot in.
>>
>get a job on my own merit
Retard. You literally get jobs through knowing people. I can believe you autists are cold dropping reaumes nobody reads.
>>
>>62076010
Then do as anon says and send them your resume yourself so they don't think you're a total faggot who wears diapers.
>>
>>62076044
you're not important enough for anyone to care about your personal information.

If you're so smart you'll make 100x in the trades and not waste your life working Sundays on little squabbles between idiots.

Thanks for all the advice but a lot of you guys have been calling me gay too and I’d like to ask you to cut that out. I am a heterosexual. And I’ll take your advice and ask my mom the people she’s contacted for their info so I can message them myself.
>>
>>62075995
>and it just feels pathetic to have my mom getting me a job in my mid-20s

Doing a job well is not pathetic. It's not how you get the job, it's what you do with it. Be the best man you can be and you will go far. Be thankful for opportunities and make the most out of them. Any other way to think is retarded beyond belief.

whew, i understand you want "merits" but take the connections job, itll be less effort for higher pay
>>
>>62075995
Yes, it's pathetic.
Also get a job.
