I’m freaking out. It’s completely undeserved.Long story short: an older family member is gifting me her entire share of an estate because we’ve always been close. Between that and the sale of some property, I’m looking at roughly €550,000.I have no idea how to handle this. I’m currently a student at a free university and still living at home with my parents. I’ve basically fallen into generational wealth while doing nothing to earn it. Instead of being ecstatic, I just feel sick.I made the mistake of telling my best friend. He’s worked 10x harder than I ever have, and his family situation is the opposite of mine. He tried to be supportive, but I could see the look in his eyes—it was pure envy.
