Wondering what kinds of interesting alternative/speculative investments /biz/ makes.

Outside of my regular portfolio I buh abd sell whisky and trading cards, but have recently been interested in the markets for marbles and fountain pens.

My nikka there's no way you're making money flipping mass produced whiskey. MAYBE if you bought limited production runs from small but popular producers or found a really good new whiskey that was still cheap you could make some kind of profit but I doubt the ROI would be worth it.
>>
So you're one of those faggots who waits Early in the morning at Total wine and BevMo for the doors to open so you can buy whatever is in stock and resell it so no one else can by the whiskey? You're a faggot and I hate people like you. kill yourself.

The bottles have the same price as 5 years ago. They went down, they went up, but now, same price.
A nice 2X flip is possible maybe, but only on some serious shit, zoom-zooms don't drink, mudslims don't drink, shrinking market.

You dont need to spend 3k on a trip to nippon for that

i've heard animation cels were scams, is it true

guns and uranium glass for me. watches and knives have shit resell generally too. vehicles are generally taxed so not good as an investment typically. numismatic coins are falling off, and forget stamp collecting

are cards and comic books still going hard??

I know that a Nikka Toki is going to do nothing. I'm almost exclusively buying at auction now, but I have a few small arbitrage opportunities identified in some different small liquor stores. I'm not expecting to get rich off whisky, I just enjoy the market of it.

Cards are still going hard, but I find the market more challenging than before covid. People arent buying normal cards as much anymore, wanting more of the chase stuff. Lowballing is insane, and I have a feeling a huge percent of the volume Is just flippers and scalpers trying to shake a profit out of each other infinitely. I need to hit up a card show to see if ot feels different at all from my online experiences at the moment.

What's the market like on niche CDs?

I invested into AP or card counting at blackjack. I had 10k to invest and decided to do the bja course, get tested out and had 7k left. Used that as my bankroll.

Like any investment there's ups, there's downs you have to stay logical and unemotional. Only difference is the compound advantage or interest is multiplied every time you play. 0.5% to maaayybeee 1% a day, for 30 day.

After 1 year of playing 5x a month, im up around 50k. Just cash and chips sitting in my safe.
