Genuinely retarded that is.The correct answer is that you should get two wallets. One should be a hardware wallet (cold) and the other should be a software wallet (hot). If you are trying to self custody assets then I am assuming you are holding a large amount of money. A large amount that maybe would make you suicidal if you lost it. So you keep the majority of this inside your cold wallet. When you want to interact with any contracts or buy something, you first move the amount you intend to use from your cold wallet to your hot wallet, then proceed. The worst thing that can happen is you lose the funds in your hot wallet. Even if you have no intention of buying a hardware wallet, you can at least create a paper wallet. If the amount of money you are dealing with is small enough that your job will earn it back in a month or two, just use a software wallet like Rabby or Metamask.
