What about if pensions were fully replaced by a 25-year service contract with 0% vesting from years 0 - 2 and linear vesting from 2 - 25 up to 100% vesting which is base wage x25. I ran the numbers and this is actually way cheaper and more efficient as well even though it doesn't sound like it.

Sounds retarded and nothing like a pension.

Just privatize Social Security and make it a forced savings/investing account. 6% by you and 6% by your employer if you're a W-2. 12% if you're self-employed. You can change the investments at any time and you can have access to any of the mutual funds from any reputable brokerage that most companies used today. You can't access the funds until you're 65. If you die with money still in the account, it goes to your beneficiaries.

Also, turn Medicare into a privatized Medical Savings Account (MSA), which acts exactly like an HSA, but isn't accessible until you're 65. 2% from the employee and 2% from your employer if you're W-2. 4% if you're self employed. You can invest the money just like an HSA. You can also choose whichever insurance plan you want at 65 and you can change it at any time, unlike the bullshit we have today. If you die with cash in your account, it goes to your beneficiaries.

For people that require government assistance, like Medicaid, the cash is directly transfered into into a different type of Medical Account which still allows the recipient to choose their insurance plan, hospital and primary doctor in the private marketplace. The government shouldn't be picking and choosing which insurance companies are receiving subsidies, which plans companies can or can't offer, or whatever else

The only way to fix retirement for people is to force them to save for retirement, but not let them access it until 65, because they'll blow the money every year if you let them. While simultaneously, you need private brokerages, private insurance companies and private hospitals competing for customers 24/7 without subsidies from the government, and without overbearing regulations from the government as well.

Government pensions are a parasitic scam and private pensions were always a retarded idea. Ask the people who worked at Enron how their pensions are doing. You should never have your retirement reliant on a single company. The 401k model is 100x safer and better than the private pension model.
