Average rent in the US is $1,740 a month. You have to work 87 hours of a 160 hour work month to make that on $20 an hour. Then you have to pay for food, and fuel, and insurance, and utilities...No wonder everyone is so poor

If you wanted to buy a house, what you were supposed to do is rent a room in your twenties while aggressively saving for a 20% down payment so you don't have to live around a bunch of loser shitheads anymore.
Why would you spend 20+ years renting if you wanted to own a home?

Kinda bullshit. If you're too broke to be able to afford rent, then share the rent with other people. That cuts your spending in half, or in a third, or even better. Get a girlfriend or a boyfriend and move in together. It's not that difficult.

>>62105866
Sharing rent with a girlfriend/boyfriend is fine but with a friend or even just a random person is stupid. If they lose their job, you are likely to get abused.

Some people though should just face the music that they shouldnt be moved away from their parents.

No such thing. Places are expensive for a reason.

Those areas are high demand. No such thing as overpriced when you’re actually talking about nice place in a big city away from trash. Luxury home areas are always pricey.

Anon did you know by any chance that apartments commonly like to require you to make 3x the rent? So for my pic for example in the middle of some worthless fucking city unironically wants you to make 6 grand a month to move in?

If nots not shitty and overpriced youre fucking retarded and I shudder because you probably habve a car mortgage.
>>
>>62106373
Overpriced how? Landlords ask that much cause people make that much.
>>
>>62106395
>landlords ask that much because people make that much
How about charging for a rate based on expenses instead of literal rent seeking? Its too bad inflation for a century+ has everyone scrambling to understand how much USD is (not) worth for goods and services anymore
>>
>>62106250
Wtf...

My roommate is based and has almost the exact personality as me. Neither of us want people in our apartment. We're both organized and clean. We both like similar music. We both cook and neither of us care if the other uses ingredients the other bought, because if one of us cooks, we just cook for both of us. We both go to the gym. And we work opposite shifts, so one of is is always home.

This is the lament of a woman who just hit the wall. She is seeing how empty her party life has been, her unfulfilling make-believe HR job isn't the thrilling career feminism promised her, a diminishing number of guys are willing to buy her dinner, she is starting to get seriously fat or wrinkled or both. She is seeing how her life choices have driven her into a cul-de-sac, how her golden years are over, and now she wants to blame "the economy". Weep your heart out, strong, independent woman.

depends on your lifestyle and goals. if you're a high earning sperg it makes more sense to rent because the comparison is 1 bedroom rent vs 3-4 bedroom house with a mortgage. if you're a sperg what are you doing with the extra 2-3 bedrooms? nothing. you're better off investing the difference between $1700/mo rent vs. $2500/mo mortgage.
>>
>>62106250

I used to think the system was truly unfair and there was no way to get ahead until I saw how little effort the average person puts into learning marketable skills and financial literacy. Even when I made 55k/yr I still saved a good chunk of my income by not buying stupid shit. I make over double that now and never fell for the lifestyle creep so I still save about 50% after mortgage. Qrd: the average normie is a fucking retard who will kvetch and squeal in order to place zero blame on themselves

I rent. I also rent out my own house. The rent I receive from my tenent covers my own rent and then some. Then on top of that I have the entirety of my salary. If you aren't willing to play the game then stay at the bottom of the ladder. Someone has to be down there anyway, its not a bad thing.
