alright smig chads
what are you buying while the market is trapped at SPY 700?
kinda weird just seeing it go flat like this, but it will break out after and blast off
and probably drop back down after the blast off

do you think 700 becomes the new support because it was the old resistance?
or will the crash down break through 700, and get back to 690 or 680?

American deployments of nuclear missiles in the United Kingdom, Italy and Turkey were matched by Soviet deployments of nuclear missiles in Cuba. The crisis lasted from 16 to 28 October 1962. The confrontation is widely considered the closest the Cold War came to escalating into full-scale nuclear war.[1]

How do I explain to my parents I lost 130k on the market? I built this up over 3.5 years, lost it in 1 month. I still have 50k, but I've been generous enough to pay my parents 5k for 8 months rent, and they always ask how my trades and investments are doing. Rent is due in1 week, my mom had a sudden emergency expense medically, and she is asking for another 2k, and I'm hesitant on giving the 5k + 2k for 8k, my parents notice my mood changes too and lack of sleep. Do I just not say anything and pay up? I know I can make the money back if I do safe holds for 1.5 years, by 8 months I should have half of it back.

I really dont know what caused AMD to go up 7.8% today. here is what i found:

-partnership with France for sovereign AI
-rumor Anthropic will use their GPUs
-possible CPU demand due to agentic AI (INTC was also up big today)

i guess its better to be lucky than good today.

If you're sad you missed the GPU explosion, then the DRAM explosion, or chips in general.

The next big thing is batteries. Within the next five years, leading battery manufacturers will 10x in value. It's going to actually become an even bigger bottleneck than chips. The whole supply chain for batteries is very bottlenecked.

Do what you will with this information.

With the datacentre build out, as electricity use rises, there are going to be inefficiiencies in the electrical usage. Excess energy will be stored in batteries to be used during peak usage hours. Electricity usage fluctuates a lot depending on what time of the year, and the time of day. The grid has to be able to support peak usage, but during parts of the day and year, the grid is under used. That surplus during low usage periods can go into batteries.

>With the datacentre build out, as electricity use rises, there are going to be inefficiiencies in the electrical usage. Excess energy will be stored in batteries to be used during peak usage hours.
So the future you envision is essentially the grids running at full force constantly, either to be used immediately or stored in batteries otherwise? Not sure how relevant this is today, but to some extent this starts to compete with the economics of converting excess energy into hashpower
https://www.aniccaresearch.tech/blog/the-alchemy-of-hashpower-part-i

Overall I share the thesis on batteries as a power bank though. The flip side of this is attacking the problem directly via nuclear though, right?

Did you know that the first instance of testing for performance enhancing drugs was first done for Animals rather than Human Athletes?
It was done specifically for Horse Racing. Why you may ask?
Because the sport (and the gambling markets for it) were dying because word had gotten out it was a rigged game.
But even with these new PED tests the suspicion of foul play permanently tainted people’s interest in horse betting.
>>
>>62122576
Nuclear, and electricity generation in general is the long term solution. But these take years, and years to come online, especially nuclear. What's going to happen in the short to medium term is optimising the electrical grid, and that is going to be done with batteries.

Yeah I agree. Tangential, but do you pay any mind to the competing economics of batteries vs hashpower? Both want to be running the grid at full throttle all the time. A datacenter (or whatever) wants banked power as insurance for their operations, essentially, but a miner just wants to convert it to capital. Both want to be located where electricity is cheap, miners are probably more flexible there though. Combined with the push to EVs, the grid is getting it's shit pushed in fast.

It'd be cool if batteries were efficient enough to do some sort of energy arbitrage. Like if ordering a cargo ship of batteries where it nets out to $0.1/kwh vs doing it domestically for $0.2/kwh.

it's not that big of a deal
the big indexes have been including IPOs for all time, considering every company starts as an ipo at some point
it's just fast tracking them. and the new IPOs will be like 1% or maybe 3% of the total market cap
