Tell me about the last time you quit a job

3 jobs ago, I quit an overseas contracting job by quiting the day the monthly schedule came out. The incharge was a fatty who did nothing and had to make a new one and most people lost their 3 or 4 days we worked into the schedule. It was day 330 overseas for my foreign pay exclusion. Also Germany didn't realize we were getting per diem ($126 a day), so a couple months after I left they began taxing that when they found out

>had comfy wfh job
>company mandated full time in office starting January 2026, no exceptions
>submit 2 weeks notice in January
>they accepted it, then called me 4 hours later panicking, say they will make an exception
>now I'm back to full time wfh

Traveled for 3 weeks striaght. Had another job lined up. Better paying and better benefits. You better believe I'm doing this again in a year.

Its a serious taste of freedom and gives perspective on rembering that the grind is there to ensure that taste od freedom becomes your standard one day, sooner than later.

I simply stopped showing up, it was amazing.

Overseas work sounds comfy.
My European friend was getting $240 a day just for "allowance" on food and a hotel.

If its a job you're milking than screw it. Go overseas.

All I want is to live free. Planning on getting at least 2 perminant residencies.

Was working on a customer support line for some assistance program, had a really arrogant fuckwit call up. Old boomer, very aggressive and smart ass. Couldn't say anything back to him, as all calls were recorded. It was almost lunch, so I told him to please wait on the line, left the phone on my desk with him waiting as went across the street to get lunch. Best Subway sub I've ever eaten. Stopped showing up after that.

I've only ever quit to join another job.
In every case soon as I say I am leaving I'm treated like a traitor and my notice period becomes a daily game of who can piss me off the most.

i was a shop manager in Paris, selling vintage motorbikes

the boss was a cool boomer with a lot of money and allowed me to have two months holidays in january and february because the shop was always empty at these periods

i go to Colombia and miss my flight because it was at 2am the 4th of March and I was thinking it will be in the night from the 4th and th 5th lol i was really dumb

I text him to tell him that i will be 3 days late because i missed my flight and he started to be super agressive on whatsapp and tell me that i can only dream about getting a raise or a promotion in the future bluh bluh bluh, boomer shits

at this time (2019) abandoning your job was still qualifying you for full unemployment in France so i just texted him that it was nice working with him for these two last years

then the company s lawyers sent me all the documents stating that i was fired and i got 2.5 years getting paid doing nothing due to covid postponing the unemployment rights for everyone

I once worked at walmart for a month when I was between jobs. When I got another job I just ghosted walmart and ignored my supervisor's calls.

I quit my career about 10 months ago to move to SEA. I emailed my boss my notice 3 weeks beforehand and she immediately texted me to make sure it wasn't a scam or hoax. Overall she was very supportive and just wanted to make sure there would be a smooth transition for the person taking over my position. My coworkers were shocked and a little sad. They threw me a going away party during my last week.

I told everyone I'm taking a one year sabbatical but I recently extended my apartment lease so I'll be here for at least 2 years. I actually have no intentions of ever working again unless Trump somehow fucks over crypto and stocks. I'm even considering selling my house in America and becoming a permanent nomad.

I was a contractor coming to the end of year long contract, was offered a new contract but turned it down as I was getting burn out and wanted extended time off, so sort of quitting. In hindsight a stupid move as I was earning a lot (finance, london).

My whole office was getting laid off and my boss told us in advance so I found another job pretty easily. Then they officially told us but asked me to relocate for them. Told them no thanks and got them in a bidding war with my new job. Ended up with better pay and didn’t relocate
>>
is giving 2 weeks notice still a thing?
>>

Was an accountant in OK, absolute awful work environment surrounded by hot dusty farmland. Eventually took a completely remote job, when I put in my last week (fuck two weeks, out at the end of the pay period) they tried to negotiate hard to keep me in office. Was very pleasing to tell them to fuck off and fled to a state that actually has trees and no water problems. Won't ever get me back in an office, now I'm just trying to get stocks / crypto right so I can completely quit entirely.
