>apply to be sales rep at work >could nearly double my salary >manager texts me today>says division manager told him he is worried I can't handle the social aspects of the job How can I become a sigma male before next week?
>>62137516He just essentially told you you're not getting the job.>How can I become a sigma male before next week?Wait for the guy who gets the job. He'll either promote or leave one way or another eventually. Like how autistic are you in the office? Are you calculated or do you seriously not socialize in the group? Are you liked? Can you share a meal or drink with any of your coworkers or not? Like, people get hired because they can do the job but if you're not social then they'll turn on you if its a serious high end job. Similar to Amerifan Psycho.
>>62137572Ok I'm not actually serious about the sigma male part. I'm probably the most well adjusted one there. I'm the most educated one there (construction company).>Can you share a meal or drink with any of your coworkers or not?I'm the only one that attempts to engage with managers during lunch functions and keep the conversations going. I'm the only one from our division dancing with my gf at the Christmas party. All our managers didn't even attend. But I can't handle social aspects of a fucking sales job? I'm getting get more pissed just typing this out. >Are you liked?Yes>Wait for the guy who gets the job.I can only see this happening if someone comes in from outside that's already a rep. But they wouldn't know the product. We were just bought by a different company that doesn't know our business. HR from the new company that bought us seems excited about my candidacy in our messages.
>>62137585I am an autistic weirdo and I own my own company doing driveway sealing. I can sell jobs. There isn’t really a social aspect to sales for construction, trying to be social actually makes it worse as client knows that’s just part of the hustle. What I found what works best is just have to be authentic and give your client the best options and be honest with them. That’s it. They want a solution to their problem not somebody to shoot the shit with. Although I do understand in higher level sales like big business the social aspect is a big deal, and you have to do stuff like golf meetings and parties and want not with your clients, but not some stupid construction job unless you are billion dollar company closing multi million dollar sales
>>62137601We are an asphalt/concrete/aggregate supplier bought by one of the big globals, but this job is strictly local to my region. >They want a solution to their problem not somebody to shoot the shit with.Thank you. Even though I am comfortable with the social aspects, this is ultimately what it comes down to. I also don't golf so I might actually be fucked.
>>62137621after reading all this, it seems kinda obvious that the division manager just doesn't like you, and that's the retard bullshit excuse he came up with
"Sales rep" is entry level bullshit work that they let anyone who fancies a go at it have a try, you just sink under your own targets and shown the door if you are shit. For them to "doubt" you about doing a shitmuncher role like that you must be quite disliked by this division manager guy.
>>62137660>>62137654Well I got word that the interview is going forward, so we'll see.
