Does anyone here into currency hedging? I'm considering holding Georgian lari as an American. What do I need to know? I guess it's better to hold in a Georgian bank?
>>62139450Why that currency? Oil bet?
>>62139758More facta friendly than many other nationalities, reasonable expectation of appreciation against a falling USD, and higher bond and interest rates
>>62139450Pointless. All currencies are worthless paper and numbers on a screen backed by nothing but USD is still the king.Gold>BTC>USD>All other currencies.
>>62139450Nigger I own 5 figures of memecoins and Chainlink. What do you think.
>>62140260I think you probably started with 6 figures

I agree with betting against the dollar, but why hedge one worthless paper with another worthless paper? Just buy gold or silver. $PHYS and $PSLV are fully backed by real metal in a vault, unlike $GLD and $SLV which sell the same bar a hundred times over.
>>62140578>>62140254the relative movements of fiat is how I want to make additional money. my thesis is that Georgia will become more economically relevant through foreign investment and that the lari will grow faster than baseline, while the dollar will depreciate faster. Getting both of those movements will help me, as will the relatively high interest rates available on lari-denominated bonds (9% APY even on short term 3-month). the idea isn't what I'm questioning, I'm willing to take a risk on that. the mechanics and legal side is what I'm working on
