Who /cheapskate/ here?
Lost thousands investing and am too stupid to learn. Therefore I just scrimp and save and keep my expenses low.
I just keep everything in cash now. Everything I try to put money into goes down in value so I'm done investing. Trying to see what other expenses I can do away with or preferably limit substantially.

I'm in the same boat but i sell it as 'living frugally' 'mindfulness' 'minimalistic de-cluttering'
>>
>>62143510
Same. And I realize it's a cope but I genuinely am too stupid to understand any of this.
Thankfully I'm not the type of stupid who takes out loans or has debt. I know how to budget and save, but I am the kind of stupid who doesn't know how to succeed at investing.

living within your means is good but don’t be so cheap you sacrifice your current standard of living on some possible promise of future riches.
>>
Just buy the S&P500 or an all world fund and forget about it, add to it when you can, that's literally all you have to do and as simple as can be.
>>
>>62143616
I've long abandoned any notion of making it on investments after everything I picked went down in value. I think that's the universe's way of saying I am not meant to succeed in investing. I just hold cash now.
>>62143623
Why would I buy something that's likely to crash? I understand people like the whole "40 year average return" or whatever it is, but you don't know that it'll just go up and up and up forever. That's gambling if anything.
>>
>>62143478
how can you even lose money in this market? I started 1 1/2 years ago with zero knowledge. all I knew was "spy/voo" which I did, thew in some niggervidia and tsmc because ai and shit. what kind of retarded things did you buy?
>>

>Why would I buy something that's likely to crash?
People have been saying this since 2015, anon. Everyone always thinks they have some insight on how the world is about to turn. Trust me, you don't. Nothing ever happens.
>>
>>62143638
Altcoins and random stocks. Again, stupid, I own that. But I accept that I am hence I just hold cash because whatever I put it into will go down in value.
>>

on the bright side, no loans or debt put you ahead of 70% i'd say. Plus Cheaping out lets you be resourceful with stuff. so there is an upside, and eventually WAGMI

Just do the safe option like dividends or something
>>
>>62143659
I've lost more gambling on slots. To be honest I see investing and gambling as one in the same. If you've profited on investing, to me, you just got lucky. Same as hitting a bonus on a slot machine.
>>62143663
I'm not even savvy with investing but even I know dividend investing is a massive fucking meme. Hard pass.

just so you know but your cash is also going down in value. you either play the game (and lose) or you dont (and still lose). at some point you are basically forced to do SOMETHING
>>
>>62143677
>just so you know but your cash is also going down in value
Dude, if I never "invested" I'd have MORE cash. It's literally a zero sum game.
>>
>>62143670
You sound like you’re completely retarded and beyond saving
>>
>>62143680
nah, you would have wasted it somewhere else. thats the kind of vibe I am getting from you. retards will always find a way.
>>
>>62143670
Nigger you lose your cash to inflation, which is much more gambling than at least a savings account or money market solutions.

>loses value anyway
Big brain move.

Normies fear danger so much they choose something which is 100% guaranteed to lose value rather than taking what they perceive as "risk"

>I just keep everything in cash now.
You will loose all of your economic power to inflation, if you are bad at investing at DCA into something.
>>
>>62143647
>I just hold cash
at the very least hold I bonds and put your money in a HYSA/CD. it’s the way you lose a minimum to inflation without having to play the game.

this but i'll rope if/when chainlink goes to $1000 by 2030

I split rent with a roommate until I was 30. Drove a used car until I was 37. The insurance I carry is the absolute bare minimum. I don't have cable TV (antenna only), I use my cell phone as an internet hot spot.

>>62143529
You're wrong about not wanting to take out loans or have debt. If debt can increase your income or decrease your expenses you absolutely should take it out.

Taking out a mortgage to have a housing payment that is cheaper than rent and locking it for 30 years is not bad debt.

Using a 0% interest credit card to buy tickets that you will later sell for profit is not bad debt.

Your issue with debt is that you don't understand how to leverage it to increase your net worth.
>>
Inflation is going to rape you OP.
>>
>>62143647
JEPQ, just throw it all in that, and watch the dividends come your way. Or go find a mainstream gold stock, gold is a hedge against inflation and you'll never lose money long-term investing in it, you wont make money either, but goyflation wont cuck you out of your wealth either.
