Back in 2012, I bought $5k worth of Iraqi Dinar. I was told eventually their currency would sky rocket in value and become close to the value of the US dollar. Anybody here have any updates?

I study this stuff a little bit. I researched it with Chat GPT, which called the dinar holding strategy a scam. I questioned that deeply because dinar seems to be fairly liquid on ebay for example. So it seems weird that people would still be falling for the same narrative over 14 years later. Perhaps there's actual potential but I dunno. US troops looted all their gold bars, so holding dinar is puting faith in the Iraqi people & Iraqi government (they don't have much national assets)In order for this dinar revaluation to work, the price suppression needs to be removed. I'd say it requires 3 things:-Iraq would need to show good economic growth-The US dollar would need to lose value
Third thing-Iraq would need to remain silent while IDF buttfucks their territory any time/place
>>62149696>Anybody here have any updates? What do you mean, you can just look up the exchange rate. You're down like 10%
>>62149696you're at a loss of around 400 dollars or if accounting for inflation and purchasing power 2593 usd
Im a Zimbabwe billionaire!
They're quietly gearing up all their banking and cross border systems, theyre already in the door for the wef and imf, they sit on 16 trillion dollars of natural resources, they're OPEC's #2 producer behind saudi arabia (and you know how they live), they hold 10% of the world's reserve at #5, and unlike >>62149838claims, they have 147 tons while SA has 327, plus a shitload of western finance is quietly pouring into manufacturing and transportationJust on its face theyre half of Saudi Arabia in oil production and gold holdings but they have 7 mil more people even if you're including SA's slave labor, more natural resources (2.5T vs 16T), and they're going to be the ones most poised to take advantage of the void Iran is going to leave in the region when the current war is over (plus the US has their thumb over them for all intents and purposes and we are the western country who has the most to gain from their currency getting pegged higher relative to us, especially if you were gonna pull some bullshit where we want to use their wealth to help stave off our own economic woes).https://www.wsj.com/world/middle-east/u-s-blocks-iraqs-dollar-shipments-to-squeeze-its-iran-backed-militias-3270d5af?eafs_enabled=falsetldr Iraqs kind of the sleeper dark horse of western hegemony putting their chips into the pot in a gambit to combat russian/chinese finance/influence in the region.
>>62149696You got conned. I was over there in 2005 and that was a common scam they were warning us about. If you understand why deflation in general is really bad you will understand how stupid you were.
>>62150114Deflation is good.
>>62151431Repeating it doesn't make it true anon. You would think all the threads you've made getting BTFO would have taught you by now, stupid is as stupid does though I guess
>>62151469>duuuude trust the expertsNobody knows what the healthy amount of inflation is and the 2-4% number is pulled out of the ass by "experts" because they need some number they can point to. Maybe the best number is -2%, nobody fucking knows. The fear of deflation comes from people who want their bags pumped and politicians who want numbers going up>inb4 muh common sense says it's badCommon sense says you can't run an economy at a deficit for decades. Stop worrying about common sense
>>62149696>Anybody here have any updates?Eh, yeah, about that....
>>62149706Good.
Dinar was like 3$ before 911. The general belief is that once Iran is defeated and the region is stabilized it will return.
What about 20$?
