dollar debasement is a meme
the us still has a bigger market cap, by far, compared to any other country in the world
it's actually bigger than every other stock market combined.

I'm sorry that american exceptionalism triggers you, but those are the facts.
The us stock market line go up is not caused by hyperinflation.
I will repeat my original point: If that was the case, then the us stock market wouldn't be 65% of the total world market cap by itself. The us stock market wouldn't be outperforming all the other stock markets since covid, if that was the cause.
Again, dollar debasement is a meme.

also, the events with very high probability will not be very profitable trades. you can do this in non-prediction markets too, like on stocks.

here's an example, you can risk $500 to make $1 that SPY closes above $680 or above $740. You can easily maintain a 100% win rate with this over some period of time, but it won't be very profitable.

Money velocity my man
A bigger economy needs more dollars, or you will get deflation
Even if GDP per capita doesn't change, a 2% population growth per year needs 2% more dollars just to stay even.
M2 / population is a more reasonable metric.
I feel like no one here understands what money velocity is.
>>and it's also super weird that since 2020, when the supposed giga mega super hyperinflation was happening, the us stock market just... kept beating everyone else
Inflation leads to asset prices increasing, yes.
But it kept beating everyone else.
That's the key. If hyperinflation was the cause, then the us stock market wouldn't be beating everyone else, who's stocks are denominated in foreign currencies

Do people actually not know that? When you buy foreign stocks, you are getting diversification through own companies in other countries, but also their incomes are in a foreign currency. Then there's the exchange rate

So? It's still being inflated and therefore debased. Money velocity is why the M1 and M2 are insightful and show this. Under any definition of 'currency debasement' I've seen, this is standard policy for the fed and to deny that this is happening is very odd. Just because other currencies are being debased faster doesn't mean the USD isn't being debased.

I didnt say that, you dumb fucks, i said its unreasonable to try to engage to international trade policies in which >we strictly adhere to pure capitalist principles while chinese SOE’s take advantage of us. Hence measures like tariffs, currency swap lines, sanctions. Within the country, capitalism works pretty well, for the most part

So in the end, do you guys really believe Trump was playing 5D chess and it was all an excuse to make the entire world dependant on US oil?

>Money velocity is why the M1 and M2 are insightful and show this.
compare M2 to total GDP. Or take M2 divided by population. You can't just look at M2 by itself. That makes no sense.
>Just because other currencies are being debased faster doesn't mean the USD isn't being debased.
If this is the case, then that means the us stock market is still outperforming, compared to other stock markets. In fact, now it seems that you're saying other countries are actually doing more inflation... so therefore the us stock market is going up because of us dollar hyperinflation... but other countries are doing it more.
The narrative falls apart.

I will say it again. The us stock market outperformance over the last 20 years, and especially the last 5 years is not because of debasement or hyperinflation. It's because our companies are actually better.

you keep fighting straw men my dude
Are you okay? Do you know what a straw man is? That's what you're doing right now.

I'm going to repeat my main point. It seems very powerful, and it must be true, because it triggers you a lot and you never address it:
America is better. We are exceptional. America is the best country on earth, the best economy, and the best stock market. Our success is not a fluke or a mistake, or merely an accounting trick.
Our success is real and we are the greatest nation on earth.
If you hate america, you can go fuck yourself. And if you bet against america, you are guaranteed to lose.
>>
>>62150940

There are arguments to be made that that was the case more than a decade ago. But now its just a title for the inherited rich to launder that into self made men or women.
The smart VCs are generally making IPO nukes to constantly bombard the indexes.
The dumb ones generally believe that whatever concerns them, concerns everyone despite living largley cloistered lives in NYC, Miami, and SF.
They also mostly move their customer funds amongst themselves so its not a bad play either. But they are getting older. The youngest ZIRPsters are entering their 40s.

Its directional but you dont need to be perfect or even very right. All you need to do is not be completely wrong (IE bear spread at a bottom or bull spread at the top) for theta to help bail you out. Compare that to decaying theta strategies, IE gambling on OTM options. If you arent right, you lose everything

The role of an MM is to capture the value in the spread. They don't have directional bias.

Intel was at 20 one year ago, now at 80. Their revenue is up 7% yoy. That while others at least post +20-30% rev-gains.

What? MMs aren't some boogeymen, the definition of an MM is someone who profits off of spread capture.

I got her via the algo too a few months back, saw what she was doing, and when the taco candle happened I knew her call leg of her condors would be blown the fuck out so I actually searched for her vids to see kek.
She was also choosing to do condors when the sp500 was really rangebound at the beginning of this year. I hardly ever do condors and I was making money doing them before the war. She got lucky with macro conditions being what they are.
There's a reason why people start out doing put spreads, because you can martingale them long enough for trend to start saving your ass if you size appropriately. A call spread is just fucked if it gets blown out before you can do anything because the longer you roll the more you're invoking up and to the right against you.
>>62151042
It's more midwitted to think up and to the right applies at the timescales spreads are concerned with.
It's the same midwittery as 'you only lose when you sell' or 'index only go up and to the right'. Time nigger.

Not sure how I feel about this. I didn't want to buu WTI because eventually Trump might ban exports which should dip WTI and pump Brent, even if momentarily.
At the same time, I wasn't planning on selling it today since I believe the conflict will continue escalating.

What to do?
