Hey guys my boss fired me for a safety violation as a way to downsize and not pay benefits. I want to try to get unemployment but not sure what to put as the reason why i was terminated so I dont get automatically denied.

You should have joined the union. My contractor basically had no choice but to lay us off. Also I don't have to solicit my own work, you just get on the book and wait at home for a call

Before I inherited my parents house I used to do side jobs during the weekends on construction sites. But now I couldn't even be bothered anymore since my only expenses are mortgage payments, investments and car maintenance. My friend has his own plumbing company. He is working 80h/week but goes on vacations four times a year. On the other hand, my other friend is working as a carpenter, works his ass off and still is barely above minimal wage despite working for himself.
