The idea that 100k a year and "six figures" is a lot of money is leftover from the boomer era. If you make 100k, you pay 22k in fed income tax in the US. So now you have 78k. If you live in a state with state income tax, you pay more. But let's imagine you live in a good state to keep it simple. 78k a year is only 6.5k a month. A normie could very easily blow that and save nothing, especially if they have kids.
