why does the thought of saving money to retire early make people so angry?
>>62153570do they never think that if they hadnt made our cities so diverse, our jobs so depressing and our living/commuting conditions so hellish none of this would happen? no one wants to spend their life on a bus commuting to work with a bunch of joggers who could stab you to death any second
>>62153570They know deep down they dont have the discipline to do it or they have kids/family and they'll never escape the rat race. They're slaves until death, so freedom makes them seethe

>>62153862>go to all.the trouble to wrangle/assassinate opponents to central bankingAnd yet crypto was allowed. What does that tell you?
>two people in their 30's>450Kare they planning to FIRE in Zimbabwe?
>>62153570His wife is right. He should be focusing on multiplying the money he already has, and possibly getting better pay. They've been working for what, at least 8-10 years, throwing away the best years of their life physically, to only get $450k saved? If they're actually saving 60% they're not making enough, and he needs way better investments and return rates as well. No matter how much money you retire with you will never be physically in your 20s again. So it's best to spend more money and do the bare minimum, and start seriously saving and investing more in your 30s as you get a better salary and have already lived your life. But since they never had their 20s they should do it ASAP. Cutting from 60-40% isn't really that bad if you actually invest and switch to a job with a better salary. What's the point of ending up with a lot of money if you can't even use it properly?
>>62153570You're steal money from social security later

>>62153570Actually crazy that the two of them with a combined income have a lower net worth than me. Given they mentioned their bank account has the 450k it sounds like they don't invest at all, no wonder their lives suck lmao.
>>62154357Sounds like they put all their money into money market accounts or some shit
>>62154313Or how about we just get rid of income tax serfdomThe gov needs an order of magnitude less than they have to do their jobs properly, and they can get all of that and more from consumption taxes and tariffs like civilized nations do. Got a bad tariff deal? Get better diplomats or get those vassal kneepads out. Not my problem
>>62153570do you really need me to explain this?stocks are a rent-seeking behaviour. money exists in order to allocate labour. if labour switches to rent-seeking, value of money goes down, as less actual work gets done. eventually, society collapses under the parasitic load.
>>62154319you have poor reading comprehension

>>62154459>labour switches to rent-seeking, value of money goes down, as less actual work gets doneIn theory it would push down returns on capital and push up the value of labour, which would make it more worthwhile to continue working. In reality they will import infinite Jeets to do the work, pushing down labour costs and juicing returns on capital. Productivity and wages will fall which make it even less worthwhile to work. Society will eventually resemble India. This is happening to every Western country.

>>62153570he will hit his FIRE goal and still live a miserable lifestyle for the rest of his life, with the fear of running out of money90% of women would rather live with a wageslive that will fund their lifestyle without complaining
I just don't see the point in FIRE. I have to live like a bum for 10+ years and my reward is getting to live like a bum the rest of my life? What's the point of having money if you can't do anything with it? When I was single I saved 30% because I didn't do anything but play video games and go to the occasional convention. It was worth it because I didn't really sacrifice much and it meant I could do what I wanted to do (video games) all day every day sooner. Now that I'm in a serious relationship my savings target is down to 5%. I'd so much rather do things with her like travel, go on dates, go to events, etc than just stay at home all day like a loser so I can retire a little earlier. We're going to have kids, and we want to enjoy the few years we have before then. I want to enjoy life with my wife and my children, who gives a fuck about retirement? Great I can spend more time with my wife when we're in our 50s and can't do shit anymore and more time with my kids when they're teenagers and about to leave for college anyways. All I have to do is sacrifice the best years of my life. No thanks. This all assumes I don't get hit by a car at 35 anyways.
Most people are poor and won’t even retire rich.

I feel like the most intelligent people choosing to clock out of society is more of an indictment on the society than the people
>>62153570some people are stuck in the perpetual slave mindset
>>62154372I would eliminate income tax and then replace that revenue with a tax on unrealized gains. I think taxing people for working is the dumbest fucking thing and only people who own assets should be taxed. I say this as someone who went FIRE at 27 and hasn't worked in over 10 years.
They spent decades of their life doing the same thing so that thing now defines their life. It's "soulcrushing" to read a book, drink some coffee, go on a walk, and wake up when the sun wakes you up in the morning. They never got to do leisure (the thing that builds all wealthy societies), so now they're confused and anxious when they're given leisure activities to do. Think about it, every hour they did leisure is one less hour they have per day, and they already have less than 8 of those to start with.
>>62153832Depends on if they mean a road trip or trips to Italy, they'd have to get a non-beater car but after that it's just gas money and time off work and you can literally drive to 48 states. We did vacations making below the poverty line no problem because you could drive to anywhere in america and in every single city or even town we went to there was something free to do. If you wanted to further optimize this (we never did, too many of us were kids and we didn't have the space / money) you can bring your own kayaks or bikes.Basically traveling is actually extremely cheap if you don't do meme-traveling trips to europe, or plane rides, or hotels / motels - setting up camp in a state park takes like 20 minutes and is viable even if you're homeless because it's so cheap.
>>62154834>Savings target 5%I can tell it's fake because of this. The savings curve doesn't make sense at that number, it's all about your current QOL vs what future reward it brings. And the ideal seems to be around 40-50%, because you start hitting diminishing returns where that extra 10% of savings costs you a proportionally larger chunk of QOL since you're working with less, and you have basic living expenses eating up a percentage so you don't start at 50 (unless you don't have those then you start at like 75)But the rewards curve doesn't match up, 60% as some married guy is retarded, spend an extra 10% and you get QOL now and also later but investing an extra 10% would nuke your QOL.
>>62153832If you've never got shitfaced in Shinjuku and running away from nigerians you're missing out man
>>62153709yep, no kids? even if he gets what he wants, in their 40s, no kids? they're gonna get sick of each other and divorce, i mean, what other point is there in staying together. Also, how is 450k in the bank worth anything? i have that much in equity im not currently using (gonna invest in investment property soon), and im far from rich, and i earn way less than them.
>>62155640i was in an office retirement meeting and they were begging people to save around 5% at least and try to aim for 1x your salary by like age 35 I was sitting there like pic related
>>62153570I'm an engineer that "checked out of society" at age 33 mostly thanks to BTC.It's hilarious seeing people like this seethe because we escaped the rat race. Atleast they understand that there's no point to work for more. The whole incentive mechanism is fucked up. They keep taxing you more as you make more money and use that money for gibs and stupid wars. QOL increase keeps getting more and more expensive because of dumb green initiative. Might as well value leisure and time more than to try to make more money
>>62153570The reality is, unless you’re a mid 6-figure earner, it is impossible to maintain a family while investing this aggressively. Your wife will leave you and take half of the money you’ve invested to blow in two years, and the house if she’s lucky. Women will force you to live your entire life in debt slavery before they let themselves be perceived as low class by driving a shitty car and not going on vacations to post on instagram twice per year. Children only multiply the problem.
A lot of goys think you need to spend half of your paycheck on nonsense to “live”. The guy he quoted was maybe going a bit too far though, nothing bad about 1-2 nice vacations a year.
>>62155601I get that idea, but the only thing that does is prioritize cheap plastic bullshit because nobody's going to buy high quality anything if its just a hot tax potato. Taxes only work at the transactional level and not the static level, since that's the only place it can promote growth instead of stifle it and converge towards more statism.
>>62153570I don't think they make as much as they think they do, and he's lost sight that the purpose of an income is to allow you to do the things you want. Just saving it because you're scared for the future in an economy that might go belly up is cuck shit. Especially when they could at least invest it to earn more. Penny wise, dollar foolish.I'm sure their diet and lifestyle suffers for it too, so not sure how healthy they'll be long term to enjoy their measly savings.
>>62155653It truly is like that anon, too bad, I bet if they brought in a powerpoint of my "quality of life curve" and explained that 5% is only 1/2 as good as 10% but costs you literally nothing it would convince them.Every time you talk with normgroids about finances it's just unbelievable statements.
>>62153570It's the ultimate ignorance is bliss. Many would rather choose to live moderately comfortable lives day by day, opposed to living like hell for 5-10 max and live it up for the rest of it.
>>62155700I was late in getting a professional job, but I luckily had family and managers at work who emphasized saving at least 10-15 percent. Incentivizing people against doing labor so they can sit on assets (that require other people's labor to be valuable) is bad actually
>>62154151>>62155312>don't have children goy (but only if you're white) (be a cool wine aunt instead)>>62155449This is true and I don't disagree with you, just know that that's what they want. They set it up this way precisely to achieve the end of white people not reproducing. I am reminded of when Israel was conquering parts of Palestine years ago (not the current war) and they hijacked the local TV stations to broadcast pornography to weaken the fighting age men. They know exactly what they are doing.
>>62155742>>62155755>I don’t know what compounding isAlso, one in ten Americans are millionaires because of homes that are wildly overpriced. Barely anyone out there, at any age, has $500k in a 401(k).
>>62153570I mean he literally says it in the post nigga, it's just bad for capable people to not contribute to society. You don't want people with >115 IQs to be spending the last half century of their life as one long vacation. An elementary schooler could figure this out. Whatever narrative you tell yourself about the entire economic structure that our society runs out being fake and jewish is ultimately cope and deep down you know it
>>62155779It's not a fake cope though. The problem is that we used to have a social system that rewarded men who worked hard with sex. It sounds simple and perhaps vulgar but that is the main driver of men and the West was wildly successful because of it. Men respond to incentives and the best system set up a way for competing beta males to constantly try to one-up each other for social status via their careers and achievements. The unleashing of women ("Sexual Liberation") revealed their true nature and what they really think of the cattle who slave for them; they sexually reward good genes and are completely disinterested in beta provider traits before age 30 (which is coincidentally when women's sexual value plummets). "Man up and marry those sluts!"Men are simply responding rationally to the feminization of the corporate workplace (which has made it insufferable for men), the matriarchal structures of our society in general (banned paternity testing, divorce laws etc.)
>>62155785This just doesn't sound like a realistic interpretation of what society used to be like. How can that be what made the West unusually successful if having access to an abundance of resources is associated with access to sex/women everywhere else too?And why would men be incentivized to excel in a society where they get married in their late teens or early 20s and then they basically have the woman on lock for the rest of their life? It's not like they were realistically going to get divorced if they didn't stay ambitious into their 30s and 40s. If anything, you're more likely to get broken up with nowadays if you don't excel, and having money (which working hard is a proxy for) is still highly valued in the dating market. Even the conclusion doesn't check out desu, outside of NEET-coded, antisocial communities I don't even see any evidence that men really are checking out of the economy en masse like that. By and large most normies are still normie-ing on. This whole redpill/blackpill narrative doesn't have nearly as much sway in the real world, even if it accurately describes things it isn't widely believed from what I can tell.

You make more money later in your career and can contribute more later with less impact.
>>62156041This all assumes you don't get hit by a car at 45 and now you can't retire because the settlement only just paid your medical bills.
>>62156058I have supplemental insurance for that. It's very cheap and will ensure I get at least 30% of my income for life if I'm that disabled. Plus I could get hit by a car at 45 and die making all my retirement savings moot.
>>62156041This is retarded logic and how you'll end up working until you're 75. Starting investing in your 20s is the best because you'll have more time for your contributions to compound in growth.

The prime joke with fire is that doing nothing is depressing and isolating. Of course better than a shit job but if you're even mildly intelligent there would probably be some way for you to find an occupation you genuinely enjoy. I also dream of fire sometimes but then I find luckily I got a great education and now can work a job that is both interesting and respected, and gives insights into the human condition. Probably a lot of the desire to be enormously rich is fear of uncertainty and the notion that money can protect you and give you an easy way to avoid what you don't like.
