The fact you kept that money is a good thing. Dont be so hard on yourself. I've made & lost millions of dollars since 2020. I have a hard time holding on to what i make because the more money I make the more (delusionally) confident I become in myself and then I lose it all because im too eager to get into the next trade instead of being patient and waiting
VOO (or SPYM). Safe, good growth, low expense ratio. A little dividend so you can drip them.,
