I have really amazing loving caring parents who are just overall good people, but theyre poor

I know for a 100% fact if they weren't caring kind of people that they would actually have made it in life money wise

But they've always helped other people out, not taken advantage of situations.

For example my mom had a botched surgery at a private hospital in the 1990's and the doctor waived the surgery cost and asked her not to sue him and gave her a sob story. She didn't sue because she felt bad for him, and decided not to. She could have got a 7 figure payout from that and been set for life, but she let it go.

Thats just 1 example of what I mean.

Another example is my dad got screwed over by a business partner, and despite having all the evidence to take him to court and get his money back, my dad is like "Oh well, karma will get him, i dont want to bother taking it to court" and my mom agreed, so he just ate shit basically, got hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen from him and he does nothing about it because the universe will some how fix it for him and sort the other guy out

Its just weird.

Funny, I got tricked into the money trap, married with kids lifestyle. I work 7 days a week to support and I don't even like them that much but they burn through so much money.
