If you'd purchased Nintendo stock in 2007, you would only be up about 13% kek. What a fucking joke of a company.
>>
>>62154899
It's interesting and sad.
Nintendo does REALLY WELL, so what the fuck?

>oh, but the wii u!

No, I mean, REALLY BAD LOSSES like a main Mario 64 style title doing bad, it's never happened. Closest was maybe Sunshine.

So why isn't their stock like $50 at LEAST?
>>
>>62154899
they got dividends too
>>
>>62154899
They utilize old yet proven technology much in the same way toyota does and like disney they have the legacy appeal to coast on royalties from all the IPs they own. They have done all the growth they needed to sustain themselves which makes them less appealing for someone investing for growth but a better choice for someone looking to park their money somewhere without it inflating away.
>>
>>62154899
is the company more than 13% more valuable than it was in 2007?
>>
>muh infinite 1 gorillion trillion exponential growth
>>
>>62154899
Is it really that surprising? Their patrons are exhausted parents and autistic whales. No offense.
>>
>>62154928
good and interesting explanation, ty...

The Switch 2 has no games

So the company whose stock got a 26% haircut so far this year alone is somehow a store of value and a hedge against inflation? Wouldn't a money market fund be much more your speed in that case?
>>
>>62154946
It's usually advantageous when a company's stock increases in value instead of decreasing, yes.
>>
>>62154955
Sheesh that's news to me, I knew they've slipped in recent times but not to that extent

Nobody will buy their stuff when millennials die out in the next few years

Unfortunately all plans for bing bing wahoo spending are indefinitely postponed due to this fake and gay economy.
>>62154972
Good for you retard. Who are you quoting?
>>
They make money by selling goods and services and don't try to juice the stock by annual layoffs
>>
>>62154899
Wasn’t the switch like a crazy success? Why up so little?
>>
>>62154899
The Switch 2 is getting its ass kicked by the 5+ year old PS5. Most of Nintendo's money at this point comes from Pokémon cards and Mario movies, not from games or consoles.
>>
>>62154968
They own Pokemon, arguably the most successful IP of all time. It’ll take a massive fuck up on their end to destroy the company.
>>
>>62155059
Lol no it's not, stop lying
>>
the problem I find with /biz/ is that people marry their investments and think that if you've been holding for 20 years you should be WAY UP or some shit, but that only applies to certain companies. For the most part if you're holding digital shit and it pumps 10x in a bubble you want to sell that shit and rotate into something undervalued, not keep holding forever for a 100x.
>>
>>62154899
>if you bought in 2015 you'd be up 700%
you tard just picked a literal scamwick pump

>the stock, a thing that can be subject to hypes, trends and all kinds of other silly shit, is the same as the company

get a clue.

I hate ninendo adults so much is unreal. I remember kids used to bully you if you played Nintendo instead of playing GTA and EA sport games.

The world has become gay af

why the fuck would anyone invest in a japanese stock to begin with? their economy is notoriously total shit and the people are incredibly inefficient
>>
>>62154899
Well, not that different from Intel, but starting from 2000. Funny how that works.

Dunny, ask grandpa Warren. Since he bought the Nikkei, it went from 30 000pts to 60 000pts in a single year. Sounds like he did good to me.
>>
>>62155421
after being shit since 1990 it had 2 good years, GME has a better track record than this

yeah but you forgot to include the dividends

Owari da Japan... 1 million jeets must be imported
>>
>>62154928
>They utilize old yet proven technology
This was only true for the Wii and Wii U, and back then the primary benefit was keeping the cost down. The original Switch specs were chosen for portability, but can actually emulate another Switch with custom firmware when overclocked back to defaults. You're a dumbfuck.

>>62155420
>not that different from Intel
Check again, lil tard.

>>62154899
yeah but you're broke and live in your moms basement, auster lol
>>
>>62155451
It's not even that good
>>
>>62155451
their yields are crap and their FCF yield is grim even compared to their nipponese peers
they sit on cash for god knows what reasons and it's earning the japanese rate which you can take a wild guess how much that's worth
I will never stop bitching about how incompetent the gooks running this company are
if you put me in charge of the bing bing wahoo machine for just a year I'm 100% certain I could turn this fucking shit show around into a 100 billion dollar company
I'd make the MCU and funko pops seem tame in comparison to the type of monetization I have in mind

what's the point of having cows (IPs) if you don't milk (monetize) them? nips fear this one simple trick
>>
>>62158155
but nooo those slant eyed fucks would rather wade into hardware business where their margins erode into the size of their dicks and RAM shortage tears them a hole big enough to fit all the pokemon AMV DMCAs
>>
>>62154899
Isn't the point of owning stock the regular dividends it pays, and not the stock price?
