The money hacks always have unforeseen obstacles that aren't apparent until you've dumped 100 hours into them. Or they work for a while and fizzle out for whatever reason, failing to justify the hours put in. Or you just get distracted and fail to follow through. The legit businesses are always, ALWAYS better ROI. They're just slow (as in, a year-plus usually) and no one likes slow. Stick to what works: Finding pain points for people and removing them.
