Now that a CS degree is worth less than an art degree, what's the new "learn to code"? I've seen people suggest the trades but they pay like shit and have you doing back-breaking work for like $25/hr

learn to suck dick.

Learn to be creative, 100 trillion dollar entertainment industry when the UBI kicks in and everything is vibe coded/AI assisted.
>>
>>62157310
anything that relies on creativity is more luck-based than anything, you're missing what made coding so great. All you had to do was go to college for 4 years and you'd basically be guaranteed a comfy six figure job. Trying to start an ai business is not the same thing at all

"Something something ai"

I think creativity is something AI doesn't excel at is what I'm saying. The grunt work of doing(in video games for example) coding and modeling 3d shit will be done by AI, but the actual creative part isn't easy for AI. Just my opinion on a scenario that may or may not come to pass. I just think if logically a lot of people get unemployed they will look for escapism. The creative/entertainment space might get much bigger.

Unironically it’s learn to code

learn to cope

Learn to code, but use those skills to create your own business. There are plenty of bullshit nothing internet business you can automate at least 95% of if you know how to code, they won't make you a millionaire but get a few running and you're looking at decent money.

Learn to prompt.

I instinctively feel contempt for men that have to sell their physical labor for money. It’s an upper middle class breeding thing. I see them out in the sun toiling on some road construction project and I just screw my face up

If you have to stand for a living you’re a peasant

Are you implying big corp or even your average mid sized compay are looking cor excellence? AI excels at producing high-volume, "average-to-good" content that fits within the parameters set by these companies. corporations prioritize that high-volume efficiency over the slow, erratic process of human "excellence", matter of fact, its alrwady happening, 1/3 of the ads I see are AI slop

This is the biggest cope that is lol you dont need to learn how to fucking type words, this is not 2022 fag

I have a B.Sc. in Information Systems and 20 years experience and a CISSP and technical certs and I barely make more than $25 an hour anyway.
At least it's remote.
I'm American and white to clarify.
>>
If I was starting over again I'd go straight into an electrician apprenticeship. Job hop like crazy once qualified while picking up as many certs and tickets along the way.
Hell at 31 I'm seriously thinking of doing this.

I just think there might be some future where (and look I know I sound like a shill) AI enables indie level devs to publish work with AAA levels of man hours.I think that consumers want quality entertainment (indie games and film do quite well, often times due to a divergence from the ordinary AAA slop). AI slop is fatiguing the fuck out of consumers soon. They will clamor for the mass produced indie joy, anon.

Get into merdicine/geriatric care, a lot of rich boomers are going to be dying soon, gonna need someone to wipe their shit 24/7. Wonder why there is a sudden surge of medical dramas?
>>

It is worth not less, but the very same as every other degree: Absolutely Nothing.
But that's nothing new though.
Ever heard of books? Yeah.

I don't really know, but my bet is that artificial intelligence will become a commodity (models like Gemma 4 are pretty good already) and at some point, a lot of companies will need someone who'll be setting up local models for them.
So I start dabbing into the space, starting with an openclaw agent that performs certain tasks for me, like aggregating the news.
It is still very much a work in progress, but my bet is that once the demand appears, I will be prepared to reap the benefits.

While true fundamentally, I need you to understand how we got accustomed to getting less and being happy with it. It was a family, house and a car, the death of physical ownership, planned obsolesce, cars interior degradation...lists goes on, point is, people are happy with less, people accept slop, so I wouldn't be too optimistic. Look, maybe I am a depressed cunt, I don't doubt that the increased productivity, my main problem is accessibility, it kills the human spirit.. some things are supposed to be hard, labor and skills are the foundation of human worth
