I had 10,000 shares of AMD in my account at ~$14 average basis price and I sold at a 6 figure loss and now AMD is over $300 and this was all in like the past 7 years and now I'll never ever make it.
>>62158302sucks to be youAnyhow that pic. It reminds me of the decline of the decline of the British Navy. The navy was basically cut in half from the 50s and up to the 00s.. and by Navy i mean the number of ships and the number of sailors. But in that timeframe the British Navy GREW the number of people it employed. It was all due to the growth of it's quasi-bureaucracy, quasi- in the sense that it isn't "paper pushers", but talking jobs. This quasi-bureaucracy is entirely isolated from the underlying business (or the navy in this case), it's a self-propagating machine that feeds on itself. It follows it's own logic and own rules, which is why you can't really say "the emperor has no cloth", because they do work. they do have a function, it's not in the Navy though, or in the business.. But in the talkative-bureaucracy.
