OPEC could go to ZERO and there still wouldn't be a real oil crisis. <25% of the world's oil is easily replaceable
-expanded drilling in other countries
-infrastructure expansion
-increased exports from non OPEC countries such as USA and Russia
Iran's oil is easily replaceable much less all of OPEC combined. Oil bagholders are schizo simple as. There's no foreseeable short nor long term problems anymore. The paper price of oil is FAKE and should be much lower.

I spent my twenties living out of my car and doing odd jobs like a hobo. I felt alive at certain points in my life, like exploring nature and seeing a beautiful vista in the desert and stuff like that, and I've had friends and girlfriends, but I've always been a loser and my family is white trash so I never had a chance. theres always plenty more of your life to make it using the skills and knowledge youve gained since then. not everyone starts on equal footing, and its not fair, but life isnt fair. all you can do is try your hardest and be satisfied with where that gets you, as long as you try a little harder and move a little bit every day
today is the first day of the rest of your life. good luck

Good then you already know money isn't necessary for what matters.

It was meant as a joke rather than an insult because I know a lot of people working their asses off to avoid drowning in our ~modern~ economy. Fwiw I'm 32.5 too and have been busting my ass for a decade while living with parents to invest, and even though I know my ship is coming in within 5 years at most, I feel like I've squandered my youth and social life by working and being disciplined.

I revelation about the memory shortage (MU) in parallel to the oil shock that I am reconciling-
Everybody knows about an oil shortage yet oil prices have topped out, the same as Micron, and people are (allegedly, at least those asians are) freaking out about oil right now. Nobody's budging on Micron. I don't think there will be a moment where people snap with Micron or oil- if it's not affecting the price now then you're out of luck. The only reason I can still be bullish on Micron is that you can prove that there's more demand than RAM that exists. I'll have to sit on this

it's just that, if I was to recommend a math book to a hobo, I'd probably pick something closer to pic rel or some geometry text. Combinatorics can be hard, unmotivated/abstract and unapproachable for the virgin mind. There needs to be a carrot at the end of the stick.

I don't know what to make of LLY yet. I thought that they would be a cash cow because meds like Ozempic are all the buzz. Obesity is becoming a problem damn near everywhere, not just for Amerilards, and I have lost count of the people who just want to take the way out instead of just putting down the fucking fork.

Then I see shit like this and it makes me wonder if it's worth investing in. Plus I worry that more data will come out about how that class of meds is actually pretty bad for you. We're already starting to see Ozempic face. I've heard too many complaints of dizziness and GI issues.

I bought an ETF weighted on the higher side for LLY because I don't have a ton of faith in them but for now, the weight loss drug craze will continue.

I have a portfolio that swings alot based on Sulphur prices and over the last few months i have figured out a decent prediction method for it since it is a refining byproduct; things like USO can be anticipated relatively accurately based on tracking certain types of military flights and cargo ships. Right now they are telling me Iran is probably getting bombed this weekend so Sulphur goes up rare metals extraction profit margins go down.

That's been my point, I don't know why she recommended a math book. That'd be the last thing I'd recommend, especially a 600 page combinatorics. No book will change the optimal actions for you at this stage, which is just going to be DCA'ing into the index. Something like The Intelligent Investor or some book like it will cover the basics if you want to be a stock picker or just enjoy reading about it. Biggest ROI will be getting your income up so can DCA heavier.

When a shitload of cargo is being moved out of bases that stockpile munitions and suddenly go to the Middle East at a higher rate than usual there is a pretty good chance bombs are getting dropped in the near future. It let me predict a spike in copper stocks when we went after Venezuela. Sulphur is a by product of the copper industry as well as sour crude, the halt in shipments from Venezuela caused a shortage so copper went up.

Sulphur is a good thing to track when investing in rare earths, Canadian and US companies are usually insulated from cost shocks since many companies involved in secondary by products from the Alberta Oil sands also are involved in rare earth extraction or have deals with ones that are, LAC is a good example once they actually produce anything.

Even 2nd world ex Soviet cities like Krakov are still going to be like $1200 USD for rent and basic utilities. That's $15k a year on just utilities. That leaves you with $1000 in discretionary+food spending a month assuming you don't even have a car lmao, you'd be living polish bum life at that point and that's ASSUMING you're getting your 11% returns. LAC is long term. Once again, Sulphur! They have access to their own Sulphur to extract the lithium so that cuts costs but it gets better, it actually creates secondary profit. They are turning it into acid on site which is exothermic, they can use the acid production to drive a thermal plant to not only self power thacker pass but also produce excess, they are upgrading the power lines so they can sell it back into the grid.

You really should be stacking it, it is pretty low at the moment and the US Government has decided it must not fail so regulations are a non issue.

Also check out Denison Mines and look at the last years chart, +173% in a nice smooth ramp with no real swings, that is a great one to stack as well. They do alot of Vanadium which cushions them from Uranium swings.

Don't know who those people are. I haven't even been investing that long, i just picked an area to focus on then started focusing on how the imputs relate to the global economy. Rare earths and related are pretty easy to figure out once you figure out how the companies interconnect. So if you have two choices of rare earths extraction companies but one is owned by a parent company that does oil sands or copper chose that one since they have cheap imputs and just as importantly experience in creating secondary revenue streams.

The Oil Sands for instance have huge secondary revenue streams in asphalt, Sulphur and washed oil impregnated gravel aka road aggerate. So besides that revenue they have cheap Sulphur for a partner to extract lithium (like LAC) and also cheap infrastructure costs. So the roads and parking lots for the mine (which get beat to hell) are cheaper to maintain. On top of that the companies are isolated from oil shocks which affect Sulphur prices and the parent companies profit from them which is good.

Figuring out if they can manipulate their niche market is important as well, for example Denison Mines has a reserve of 2.2 million lbs of yellow cake, it is a huge stockpile of it they are sitting on that isn't even part of their supply chain.

That is a physical reserve worth CAD $720 million with no debt BTW, even with 1y gains of +173% i think it is undervalued given long term projections.

Regardless of what happens to the economy having a physical reserve that can make over 1300 atomic bombs is a damn good asset when it comes to preserving corporate longevity and stability. In theory a bit of diversification and they could be the worlds third largest nuclear power.

Yeah, I know you have your theories. Your post imply that you believe that when you place an order, a market market should react immediately and the price should correspondingly move with it. Do you not understand that your volume is inconsequential, and you're in a marketplace with many participants who are buying and selling the same asset simultaneously? MMs can also run books that require complex hedging behavior, so reasoning about it can be impossible since you can't see their full book.

Pic rel is a good book if you'd like an antidote to your schizophrenia.

Yeah I went to grad school, did algebraic geometry for a while. Not in the USA thank God.
Thanks for the recc btw, seems interdesting. I've never read a physics book in my life, do you think it's beginner friendly?

nobody cares about an average curve on a shit stock while everybody is reallocating half their ports, it's being dumped so people can buy dram and googl and short plays on it are going to shit the bed.

I would think so if you have a grad level maths education. The problem solving skills between math and physics are way different though but you'll pick that up. I've thumbed through a couple and liked how the prose was more mathy and terse, and like that the set covers all the major ground in theoretical physics so I don't have to think about what to read next. Bonus points for being soviet era, too.

How was grad school? Seems like it'd be chill if you don't have financial pressure and just wanna study and socialize.

Cameco (CCJ) stores Iraq's yellow cake now, they manage over 21 million lbs of the shit but mostly for other companies in a custodial role.

You are now aware Ontario has enough Uranium for roughly 13,000 atomic bombs.

CCJ is another great stock, up 175% in one year and 644% in five, they even do dividends.

>Do you not understand that your volume is inconsequential
If most of the volume is artificial until enough goys transact so that the billionaires can build their books without drawing attention (the goys took all the heat) then no my volume may not be inconsequential. Actually I confirmed with my broker that it takes less than you think to impact the market. You are assuming that when you look at the /zn and see that wall of bids and asks that those are real. If majority are just related party transactions than it's really no different than the staged actor playing and winning the cups and ball scam to draw in new money to the scam.
>>
>>62176507
You would still be just one trade in a pool of many in that case. You seem to have a conspiratorial view of how markets work in real time, as if MMs are baiting and watching (you) in particular.

>Actually I confirmed with my broker that it takes less than you think to impact the market.
kek, you don't even KNOW what I think it takes, and now you're telling me your broker does? Schizophrenia! Anyway, you can model market impact of your orders to get estimates on the actual influence. You're only going to have a discernible effect in illiquid markets where your volume is disproportionately high, unless you're secretly a whale or daytrading six figs where you might notice some friction.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_impact

You're just getting whipped by normal price movements and coping hard.

Sometimes 7. Now begone poorfag. Go be a nigger somewhere else.
>>

Obviously you'll be moving the market if you're eating the books.. I've said this is all conditional on volume:liquidity the whole time.

No way you're trading that kind of volume and don't know this, though, so I know you're lying.

friend tells me I am making a big mistake by picking stocks instead of sticking with VOO

but I made a lot of money with picks like google, amazon etc, and honestly they seemed really easy to pick? he says these are short term gainz and VOO wins long term
is he right?
