You could have purchased Pokémon cards instead of getting rug pulled on a shitcoin.

grown men trying to offload their plastic bing bing wahoos onto unsuspecting children who think it's a "hobby" is hilarious
>>
>>62177352
A girl I work with has a side business selling pokemon cards. Annually, she makes more money from that than her salary.
We work in fucking finance.
I pray for the bubble to pop just for the world to make sense again.
>>
>>62177352
>The world has devolved to the point where grown men are trading toys for money
Uncle Ted was right this whole time.
>>
>>62177465
I could never do that shit, humiliation ritual all the way battling other man children in isles for pokemon boxes, I would probably be sent to prison after the first time I try to do it

Pokemon cards are an alternate form of currency which has all the features of currency while resting outside the functional reach of the government. Think of it as art collections for poor people. An inflated micro economy of money laundering through paintings etc. Well poor people have done the same thing with trading cards. Combine this with the fact that these little scraps of paper represent market share in the most successful entertainment franchise in history, have scarcity, suffer natural attrition, and are strongly associated with psychological tendencies like herd mentality and hoarding. Rich people are so greedy that they ALWAYS become envious of any niche club that gains value without them, so here come the fucking city slickers to inject a fuckton of liquidity into the trading card market since 2020.
This was part of clown world programming and you should have seen it coming from a mile away.

Buying stuff on eBay and opening pokemon-themed scratch off tickets is a perfectly valid hobby chud
>>
>>62177352
Is this all what Pokémon is now? Greed? A pyramid scheme ending in a rugpull?

Very sad!
>>
>>62177352
Is this for real? That tag team didn't see much play.
>>
>>62178416
If you are speculating that this ends in a rugpull, there's no evidence to support that theory. Crypto has rotted your brain so that you think every non-traditional investment is a scheme, but you overlook the fact that people genuinely want to own these luxury assets which appear to hold value across generations.

It's been a trending valentines/anniversary day gift among the ultra wealthy for a few years. Nothing to do with playability.

good luck finding retards to sell them to, pokebaggie
>>
>>62178468
Nta but these are entirely worthless novelty items. Are you stupid enough to think that someone bought this piece of crap for 20000K cause they thought it was worth that much? Obviously they will try to sell it later for even more absurd prices.

And if the buyer was an insane collector, that doesnt mean this card can reliably sold on the market either.
>>
>>62178520
You sound like you're in disbelief of the events happening around you.

>someone bought this piece of crap for 20000K cause they thought it was worth that much

Have you ever seen gemstone auctions? People's value perception is skewed and you're the idiot for not turning this fact to your advantage

Always buy things with a proven track record. Recently I've been branching into 19th century rare books and japanese import pornographic switch games to diversify my collectables. Did over $20,000 dollars in sales on ebay last year using some boxes from this pic.
>>
>>62178716
Why is the internet constantly full of pathetic faggots telling people to spend time with psycho boomer parents? Take your weird reddit chungus mentality and kill yourself in the most brutal way possible. If someone cuts ties with a boomer it's definitely because the boomer is tremendously fucked in the head, faggot.
>>
>>62178815
because destroying the concept of a tightly bonded family is (((their))) goal.
>>
>>62178716
>Make amends with the people who treated you like shit

You MUST be a boomer.
>>
>>62177966
The insanely high valuations are only for cards in mint condition, so unless you put it in a sleeve right away it won't be worth that much anyway. Perfect grade holo 1st edition holo Charizard go for like 6-7 figures
>>
leave it to materialism threads to reveal the types of angsty losers who forsake their family and would rather give money to a jewish lawfirm

>boring history based collectibles for boomers with dead players that kids never saw and can't relate with + limited to US market
vs
>cool fantasy collectibles for kids with active player base growing every game release + worldwide market
I don't think you get the difference, I'm not a Pokémon collector but it's obvious that it won't die until the video game license and cards competition scene doesn't collapse, kids nowadays still care about Pokémon, I'm European (whiter than you) and I don't know any players on your picrel

It’s for your own good, not theirs. This retard says he has a 1st Ed Charizard but he refuses to go back and take it. Trapped in a downward cycle of resentment. Those who don’t forgive others only punish themselves. Perfect example of this here. And forgiveness doesn’t mean you have to get along with that person. Just humble yourself and get over it. If you can’t do that, your pride and ego is too big.
>>
>>62178468
This is like that scam in RuneScape where someone is "buying" something useless for 100k and someone else sees it and rushes to buy the item for a bit cheaper to sell it to them

I bet these "expensive" trades are just like that .. groups "selling" to each other to hype the price up and then some poor sucker is left holding the bag, but you made them both 10k richer kek
>>
>>62177352
Yeah ok, in theory... because who the fuck actually buys Pokemon cards in 2026?
>>
>>62178472
>Very expensive Pokémon cards
>It's been a trending valentines/anniversary day gift among the ultra wealthy for a few years.
Nice to see surplus value extracted from wage workers are put to good use. Proles should be proud knowing that the rich are indeed exploiting them, the head commands to the body, but at least the extracted value is put into new strategic development for the good of all society.

> collections for poor people

Incorrect. Poors are the ones beating the shit out of each other over restocks at Walmart. They try selling choice cards to collectors that are well off, Poors are not spending $1000s on PSA 10 slabs
