making 300k a year is making it

Just because some people have never had to stretch a dollar and so over dramatize how much they struggle to cover their needs, doesn't mean I'm not significantly better off now with half a million dollars than I was a decade ago with 20 dollars.
>>
Fucking kek
>there is no making it because uhhhh people making 500k spend their money on stupid shit like living in downtown nyc
>>
The wealthy, especially those who inherited their wealth, are out of touch

Saw a yt video where they explained this phenomenon, because apparently it is real.
Essentially the +500K people (whom are salary men) live and work in a very expensive environment. Cars, clothing, housing, vacation, food, these ordinary things can be incredible expensive. The suit you wear to co-workers funeral cost more if you work in Wallstreet, than if you are a teacher in some small rural community. The restaurant you take your office crush out to, cost more if you work in Goldman Sachs, than if you work at the Dunder Mifflin office. You are not commuting 1-2 hour every day, you live close to your job.. and Manhattan is expensive.
etc..

$300k+ is probably doctors, lawyers, small business owners, and techfags who are status obsessed retards.

You don't have to do all that. You can be a wallstreet executive and take the secretary to mcdonalds for a meal instead

What's she gonna do, date someone else?
>>

You can, but you would be the cheapskate at your workplace. Like it would be a thing, the guy that takes his gf out on McDonalds, taking carnival cruise vacations, driving a used car.
If you don't want to be "a thing", just a regular guy at the office, then you spend money in according to what is customary in the social circle you are in.

This is pretty accurate. I know a couple of friends who make over 500k a year and live paycheck to paycheck because they are stupid when it comes to finance. Organic everything, leasing cars, $7,000 a month mortgage, private schools, it adds up really quick.

People are generally retarded when it comes to money. Giving those people more money only barely addresses their problems.

Likewise when people complain about "affordability" remember there's a very good chance they're full of shit

If people get sucked into a lifestyle, sure. But there's a big difference between merely paying to live in Manhattan vs getting into the ridiculous levels of living.

But yes, if you must live the lifestyle you "need" to:
>Pay buttloads of tax (including NY AND NYC tax)
>Your housing cost is insane (normal people would live in a 1 bedroom, but as a baller you're now buying some 5-7 bedroom penthouse on the upper east side)
>Food costs are elevated (but you're not merely shopping at whole foods, you're eating at multi starred Michelin restaurants and getting delivery basically all the time)
>You "NEED" $5k-$10k mtm or bespoke suits
>You gotta get a nanny and housekeeper at least who both work at NY pay ($200k+ total)
>Private club initiation and dues can range from $10k-$200k+
>NY preschool can run $70k+, multiply by number of kids
>Gym memberships are $1000+ for the family
Etc etc
