I've been posting this in a few threads now, because I think it's a good thing for any silver investor to read, especially when Silver Institute statistics are cited in these threads quite often, it's a read, but it's quite interesting and makes points out many valid flaws in the publicly presented data used to inform silver investing decisions and why it drastically undersells the actual deficit, even more-so than we already knew:

https://silverseek.com/article/silver-institute-strikes-again-john-macintosh

Hope some anons get some use out of this.

Some of the more impactful excerpts in regards to Silver Institutes industry reporting on silver supply and demand:

>In their latest report, the Silver Institute reduced 2026 global silverware demand to 30 million ounces. Back in 1999 it was 109 million ounces.

>In their 2023 report covering the years 2016 to 2022 total demand for that period was 736 million ounces. The following report in 2024 lowered total demand for the same 7 year period to 633 million ounces, a stunning 14% drop.

>So all this gibberish about silver being used in EV's, EV charging stations, wind farms, data centers, 5G stations, radars, storage batteries, drones and missiles, in electronic thermal management, in EMI, reflectivity and conductivity, and all this talk of an electronic revolution, going from analog to digital, all the headlines of silver being used in cellphones and computers, touch tone screens and sensors, silver being included in the USGS critical mineral list, China's ban on silver exports, silver used in water purification, silver in medical implants and pacemakers, and antimicrobial creams, all this talk of innovation and technology, is apparently nothing but a smokescreen of hogwash and hot air, because over a period of 16 years the Silver Institute's high priests have ordained from the pulpit that industrial demand for silver, excluding solar, has gone inexorably backwards, shedding 14%, while the world economy grew by 78%.

>The Silver Institute estimates that jewelry fabrication in India fell from 112 million ounces in 2022 to 70 million ounces in 2025. They have not yet estimated Indian demand for 2026, but if it follows the 19% drop in global jewelry demand from 2025 to 2026, it will end up exactly at 50% below where it was in 2022. This is the kind of total wipe out in demand that occurred during the bubonic plague, not in the world's fastest growing large economy which is increasing at a pace of 6% per year.
>>
>>62198984
>And now, in the recent 2026 report they really went to town. Not only was 2025 solar demand lowered by 9 million ounces from 196 million, demand for the current year, 2026 ,was hammered to 151 million ounces, down 45 million from the demand they published last year.
>Even for an outfit with an impeccable and longstanding track record of carpet bombing and spraying agent orange on anything that vaguely resembles demand, a drop of 23% in one year is a pretty audacious move, especially when global solar installations are increasing by 30% per annum.

>China's silver imports are surging in 2026. In March they imported 27 million ounces, more than three times what they imported in March 2025. At this pace their yearly imports would account for 45% of all the silver that is forecasted to be mined outside of China this year. Since China's refines more than 60% of the world's silver, and since silver exports from China have effectively been cut off, this leaves slim to no pickings for everyone else.

>I strongly suspect that China, unlike the rest of the world, does not rely on data from the Silver Institute.

>It is hardly surprising that the world's pricing mechanism for silver is rapidly moving East to Asia. The Indian authorities recently announced that they will no longer use the London silver market as its benchmark. They announced that they will use their own internal pricing mechanism, since it will be "more reliable."

>>
>>62198990
>If you deduct the implied global data center demand in the USGS report from the 2026 Silver Institute's industrial demand base, the remaining industries have 109 million ounces to share among themselves, compared to 530 million available back in 2007

>Recently China, which accounted for 15% of global exports, banned sulfuric acid exports. Chile, which produces 25% of the world's copper, typically imports 1 million tons of sulfuric acid from China. Their mines have to compete with agriculture that is desperate for the fertilizer that comes from sulfur.

>Consequently, the price of sulfuric acid has recently risen five-fold. It is hard to imagine how any byproduct of copper mines will see an increase in production this year. As it is, silver ore grades [...] have been falling by around 3% per year for many years. That is one of the reasons why silver mine production cannot respond to higher prices. Two of the largest silver miners, Fresnillo and First Majestic, have announced lower production in the first quarter of 2026, by 9% and 6%.

>Capital expenditure in the neglected precious metals mining sector has hardly budged for decades, while environmental costs have skyrocketed. Despite the fact that Mexico, the world's largest silver producer, is seeing a 4% drop in production so far this year, and despite the curtailment of sulfuric acid supplies, the Silver Institute decided to raise its global mine production. They did this by retroactively increasing 2025 mine production from 835 million ounces to 847 million ounces. Their mine production of 846 million this year looks like it is down one million ounces, whereas it is actually up 11 million ounces from what it was a year ago in the 2025 report.

COMEX is kaput. Anyone wanting true price discovery is going elsewhere.
>>
>>62199006
Yep, but at times having the sheer level of corruption and deceit that the silver industry is held hostage by shown in the full light of the day can be a shocking reminder of why stacking should be part of everyones portfolio, as always: That which cannot go on, will not go on.

I knew that already. If I'm to believe that solar/hi-tech is the future... okay, then it needs things like Silver to function. End of story. If Silver supply has been running out for years and it takes even longer to get new mines online and producing... then I know Silver's price is gonna go up. The fundamentals have always been strong, even stronger knowing how manipulated it all is via unbacked paper derivatives. Meanwhile crypto, something originally sold to the plebs as 100% anonymous, has only gotten more and more incestuous with the State powers.

If the State wants me to use crypto, I don't want to use it. If the State wants to mandate CBDCs, then I don't want to use them. Simple as that. If the Semitic States of the west spent a century weaning people off of Gold and Silver usage - Then guess what - I want to use them. Simple as that.

One more quote from the article I posted for those who aren't interested in a lengthy read:

>Believe it or not, and with the Silver Institute, disbelief has to be suspended on a regular basis from a mighty high bridge, their combined jewelry and silverware usage of 193 million ounces now stands 25% below where it was in 1993, when demand was 257 million ounces. This huge reduction occurred over a 33 year time frame, when the global population increased by 48% and the GDP of the world rose by 450%.

>Adding to this puzzle, the world's top buyer of silver jewelry and silverware, India, which accounts for roughly 40% of the world's silver jewelry demand, has seen a GDP increase over that period of 900%. Despite this dramatic increase, despite India's population rising by 550 million people, and despite India's eternal love affair with all things silver, the Silver Institute would have us believe that fewer silver rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets and decorative and religious items are being purchased in India today than were purchased 33 years ago; a time when 60% of today's Indian current population had not been born. However, IBEF, the India Brand Equity Foundation estimates that from 2008 to 2017, which incorporates less than one third of the period covered above, India's fabrication of jewelry and silverware rose by 302%.

History is pretty compelling, whether it's coins, beer, music - the list goes on and on. Maybe you've just got that much cash to blow constantly. On the other hand, maybe you've stacked so much weight you have no need for much more.

Isn't it that if all the silver in the world was distributed amongst just 1% of the population, everyone would get 34 ounces each? An anon posted a table with this info, I can't find it
50+ oz = GMI
200+ oz = Incredibly wealthy
>>
>>62201277
I don't have that chart on me currently, but yes. I'm sure some anon can post it.

The Average anon here is potentially sitting on generational wealth.

As many times as he wants. They have done this to silver forever, even with huge shortages of it (Like right now).

It's all a rigged game. That's why the only thing to do is to invest in physical assets (gold, silver, etc)

You could distribute all the cheese in the world and every person might get a slice, that doesn't mean that slice is worth $600,000.

Now use your brain this time and rethink this thought experiment in the context of national debt and interest rates and the exponential nature of the increase in dollars compared to the declining production of global silver.

Silver isn't needed for any technology, in fact its being fazed out in solar panels,,,,all commodities get cheaper over time
>>

There's tons of substitutes, silver is only absolutely needed for a very few specific processes and in tiny amounts.

The increase in money is exponential. Is silver, too, being mined at an exponential rate?

Silver is used industrially for helping autists look at shiny things. Like fidget spinners. Fuck your solar panel meme

As of April 2026, it seems about 37 ozt is the current arguable amount. This is the updated table.
The big drop from 370 ozt shown in the outdated chart t2SCSuuX posted is that an estimate of 90% of all mined silver being lost is incorporated into the new value, mined silver has been updated to add years 2024 and 2025, and the global population figure has been updated.
Then the rate table is appended At the bottom.

I need to sit down and recreate this spreadsheet just for funsies. I try to tell people about the fundamental thesis behind silver and it's amazing how people seem unable to grasp the enormity of the opportunity right in front of their faces.
37 ounces can be achieved in a year by purchasing just 3 ounces a month. This is why I will never stop stacking.

It's easy to do. Stripped down it uses only two values for each metal: current stock divided by the global population.
The devil's in the details: converting units, deciding what ARE the current stocks, and how do you prove it?

Is cheese being created at an exponential rate? Pricing is based on supply, demand and the cost of production. As long as producers have silver to sell they will short high prices to lock in profit.

The problem is the monetary system is an exponential function and it is extracting value faster from the real economy at rate larger than the real-world economy can grow. Dollar dilution and inflation are the end result and that will lead to the logical conclusion that you are losing money by investing to earn basis points such as bonds and ETFs and most stocks. The longer this goes on the worse it will get to the point when all of the cash sitting on the sidelines in the $46TN bond market will begin to chase after real-world capital goods because the purchasing power loss is happening in bank-credit and not capital assets.
Back in 1933 the Fed revalued the price of gold (they devalued the dollar) so even if you owned gold-backed dollars, you still lost your ass because the "asset" you owned was nothing more than a claim. Owning the real-deal, the physical gold bullion, is actually how you profited.
As for talking about cheese? Those analogies are meaningless because what is being discussed at its heart is a monetary phenomenon whose growth is exponential. You can't use different commodities as an analogy because the growth rate is logarithmic and theredfore a nonstarter.
>>
Silver has lost 80% of its value since 1980,,,,shit investment for losers

>Dollar dilution and inflation are the end result and that will lead to the logical conclusion that you are losing money by investing to earn basis points such as bonds and ETFs and most stocks.
this
chasing the "yield" of imaginary numbers will make you poorer than if you just buy real world things

If the bankers and accountants are skilled enough, if they "carry the 1" at just the right moment when doing their financial wizardry, then can literally turn a resource shortage into unprecedented wealth. You see, it is actually a CHOICE that we make on whether or not to be poor. YOU just don't stimulate the economy enough by spending all of your paycheck and giving the rest of it to the government and banks.
This is YOUR fault.
>>
>>62202425
who cares
it's a shitty overpriced coin
mintanon said he will make a proper frensmark someday. wait for that
