That's only true if everything kept regressing to the mean and the economy stayed flat.
Turns out economies grow (people, education, productivity, resources discovered and mined). That's why you can buy MSCI World and beat inflation.
So it turns out only idiots lose money. They underperform indices so I can overperform them.
