ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS SHIT
STOP SELLING
HANTA IS A NOTHING BURGER
40% MORTALITY JUST MEANS THEY BURN OUT BEFORE SPREADING FUCK
I LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT BACK

Fuck off retard
>>

>“it is possible more cases will be reported” because it can be up to six weeks before those infected with the Andes variant of hantavirus show symptoms.

Lmao 40% mortality with SIX WEEKS to transmit it would fucking DESTROY humanity if it's even mildly transmissible without symptoms.
>>
>>62202033
Bullish on Hanta? Truly a nothing burger though, this disease is likely less transmissible than herpes.

I think it's probably a nothingburger, but at the same time you're dealing with a strain that's evolving and we don't fully understand at this point. If we see any propogation of the virus beyond the cruise ship I'd be very concerned.

I made $3MM trading otm options on COVID off of $20k , biologist by training.
>>
>>62202033
But it's not infectious without symptoms. The few reports that were done on this showed that it's infectous from human to human for literally a single day, which is the day with high fever. So yeah the chance of this becoming a hard to contain pandemic is basically zero like this.
>>

why are they like this

>>
>>62202190
That's what they first said about COVID.

Fact is all of this is rapidly developing based on just a handful of cases and what people claim they know about the virus can change quite quickly.

What you want to look for is deaths and confirmed cases, especially outside the cruise ship. Keeping in mind the six week delay here, if we see growing *confirmed* cases at an exponential rate, especially those outside the ship, brace your fucking self because there will be a shitstorm in another month+.

Odds are again it's a nothingburger, but if we see multiple degrees of human-to-human transmission that's when you buckle down

No, that's not what they first said about covid. When covid started I vividly remember a bunch of reports warning about infectivity. Not everyone believed it of course, but there was an overwhelming amount of evidence for it being mega fucked.

You weren't following.

Here's the early January 5th 2020 communications from WHO:

https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease-outbreak-news/item/2020-DON229

>"Based on the preliminary information from the Chinese investigation team, no evidence of significant human-to-human transmission and no health care worker infections have been reported"

https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease-outbreak-news/item/2020-DON233

>"The market was closed on 1 January 2020. At this stage, there is no infection among healthcare workers, and no clear evidence of human to human transmission. "

January 14th:
https://www.who.int/news/item/29-06-2020-covidtimeline
" “it is certainly possible that there is limited human-to-human transmission”.

And then January 17th:

https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease-outbreak-news/item/2020-DON237

>Additional investigations are needed to determine how the patients were infected, whether human-to-human transmission has been observed, mode(s) of transmission, the clinical spectrum of disease, and the extent of infection, including presence of subclinical cases that are undetected with current surveillance.

By January 23rd:

https://www.who.int/news-room/speeches/item/who-director-general-s-statement-on-the-advice-of-the-ihr-emergency-committee-on-novel-coronavirus

>We know that there is human-to-human transmission in China, but for now it appears limited to family groups and health workers caring for infected patients

Feb 1st- asymptomatic patients:
WHO Situation Report 12: “transmission from asymptomatic cases is likely not a major driver.

By Feb 4th it's acknowledged to be much more wide:

Yeah we have limited info but if the transmission window is long enough especially when someone infected is without symptoms or minimal symptoms and easy enough we're fucked.

I would begin buying up N100 masks as well as powerful UV C bulbs and all the other shit you wished you had during COVID NOW. It could be a nothingburger but I'd be ready.

Yes.

>SELL as SOON as the President is about to speak
>All into crypto (BTC/XMR)
>>
>>62204346
This isn't like Covid in one very important way - we have known about Hantavirus for a half century now (it was discovered during the Korean war), and we know about this specific south american strain of hanta.
The transmission window is extremely short, less than a day, and it's blatantly obvious when you're potentially infectious because you're running an extremely high fever. Also, even during that period of peak infectiousness it's still not terribly transmissible, most hanta virus outbreaks involve just a few people, and most of those turn out to have gotten it directly from rodent droppings. The outbreak in arizona back in the 90's for example came from infected rodents in a warehouse that stored canned sodas, and the dust from their droppings was getting onto the top of the cans and people were getting infected from drinking the soda. It looked like person-to-person transmission within families until they figured out it was coming from the soda cans and everybody in the family was drinking the same sodas.

The virus has between a 2 week and 8 week incubation time.

It spreads by aerosol droplets.

The virus can remain virulent within a droplet for between 2 and 15 days.

It has a 40% rate of mortality.

This is not 'we treat you with a vaccine' shit. This is 'we shoot you and burn the body' shit.

You won't hear about the billionaires running into their bunkers. They'll be there long before things get hairy.

>>62202033
>if it's even mildly transmissible without symptoms.
It's not transmissible while asymptomatic, it's extremely hard to catch it while symptomatic (onset is like the flu so it can happen, but requires a lot of fluids and isn't aerosolized).

If you actually want to doomsay then the real issues is if it gets into rodent populations then it's just a recurring issue.
>>
>>62205070
Then kill the rodents whats the big deal?

Stop falling for /pol/ bot threads. No one else cares about it at all

humanity exists for 300000 years and now all of a sudden we have global humanity ending pandemics back to back within just a few years. yeah this seems a LITTLE bit unlikely and no I wont stop noticing.
>>
>>62205340
Correct, they only have so much information so "the story" will change the moment they get more.

There's nothing wrong with that besides being a retard who thinks that since something is "the facts" all other possibilities have been "deboonked".

If you have an IQ over 110 you should be able to see the situation as one of many possibilities of varying probabilities, and update your weightings as more information becomes available.

Again, highly likely it won't transmit well enough but keep your eyes peeled for new cases.
>>
>>62204470
We've known about corona viruses for a long ass time too. There's only been so many cases of this strain ever documented
>>
>>62205352
Covid and now this banter plague would barely register in history; big nothingburgers. Mass media and the feverish obsession with keeping boomers alive as long as possible is what made covid register as a black-death tier plague in our (well, just normies') minds.
>>
>>62206252
Just looked up the numbers again to rage-bait myself:

>According to provisional CDC mortality data, COVID‑19 death rates per 100,000 population rise steeply with age, from under1 in young children to over 1,395 per100,000 in those aged 85+ in 2021.

Imagine you're in Europe or China in 300ad, or the middle ages, and suddenly some unknown fever goes around. Out of everyone that contracts this mysterious fever, not even 0.1% dies. Literally NO ONE would care, and rightly so. The Justinian plague had a survival rate of less than 50%, now that is a pandemic to write home about.
>>
>>62202089
It's a nothing burger to prepare you for a somethingburger

How would humanity react if they found out about sars? Mpox? Ebola?

Write down the findings and data and then plan your depopulation event accordingly.

One thing I've noticed on goytok is that normies are showing high levels of apathy and vitriol towards the current hanta passengers. This is likely to prepare them mentally to accept the coming deaths of the future.

tl:dr when cows are led to the slaughter they might freak out and go crazy. Imagine leading billions of cows and you're in a time crunch.
>>
>>62206383
I wish it was the boomer destroyer they hyped it up to be.
>>
>>62206237
And this is one of the documented and well-studied strains of hanta. Do try to keep up.
