Are programming jobs dead?
>>
>>62208414
Not really the thing is they are mostly taken by jeets now. The real high paying ones were taken by real lucky guys about 6 years ago
>>
>>62208424
Yea but they're going to be replaced by ai soon
>>
>>62208414
What the fuck does this even mean
>>
>>62208414
Basically the old programming career is dead. The new one will involve heavy use of LLMs as that's what business and the market demands. It was a shit field anyway and will now be even shittier.
>>
Tech is 100% Jeeted now.

Even if you get a tech job your manager and his manager and his manager are all Jeets. You will be working in an Indian slave work culture. It's not worth it any more.

>Yea but they're going to be replaced by ai soon
nonsense

>Tech is 100% Jeeted now.
guptacels can't vibecode, they don't know how specifications work
agents are way cheaper than hiring rakesh to codemonkey some webdev shit
it's absolutely fucking over for india

This mene is great because it really is me on the right is taking to you chuds.

Modern compilers optimize code for you automatically, for example 2*3 is stored as 6, it doesnt waste power trying to compute simple arithmetic. more advanced, loops are also optimized with loop unrolling and SIMD vectorization. But the thing is developers confidently make claims about compiler behavior that they never verify to j ustify horrible coding patterns or shortcuts they take.

New ones yeah, unless you live in India. I graduated at the top of my class one year ago this month, have sent hundreds of applications. Now work at kohls for 17/hr like a goy
>>
>>62208424
Straight and factual. My midwest town of 3000 people opened a fucking Hindu temple recently. It's all H1B indians.
FUCK ME! (financially speaking)

>replaced by ai
Who do you think are the most skilled and knowledgeable with AI right now?
Only codemonkeys who for whatever reason are on the luddite end of AI will be replaced. It's no different than any other new wave of technology affecting software development, but it is happening at a faster pace.
Most jobs are less code-monkey and now more like code orchestrators / general software engineer situations as opposed to dev.
>>
>>62208473
it means the chud made a claim and then tried to shift the burden of proof. small dick energy
>>
Senior devs are still needed (for now), junior ones are not
Still, I'm afraid I'll lose my job sooner or later. Being asocial used to be accepted, but nowadays people expect me to do much more work with people since Claude handles a lot of the actual coding
>>
>>62208414
excellent coders will be kept on for a few more years to guide/sanity check/train the AIs

entry level jobs are fucked tho
>>
Doesn't AI code contain a ton of security leaks? On top of not being optimized? Isn't this the golden opportunity for hackers to fuck up some shit?

Yeah I understand it helps you code faster, but in the end you would still need someone to look over the code and fix the bad code. And for that you will eventually need to train coders again. Are we approaching doom times, where there's almost no real coders left, and the few that are, can completely abuse the faulty code?
>>
>>62208414
No. What changes is deadlines are much shorter. You're typically expected to deliver a month of pre-ai work in two weeks.
>>
>>62209203
AI is bettet at coding than new graduates.

The race is over before it even began.
>>
>>62209229
imagine starting a four year computer science degree in 2022, when AI was a joke, and graduating today, when AI has fucked your future
>>
>>62209239
Literally did this
