Believe it or not staking will be a life long stressful balancing act. If you have 20,000 Link and the price is $1,000 you have $20 million dollars. At 4% you are making 500k/year after taxes. Obviously that is great. But is it? That’s enough where you won’t be motivated or have a purpose. You also have 20 million which is a lot of money that you can’t really touch if you want to maintain that status quo. You’re basically a super high earning social security recipient who makes too much to care about anything but too little to be a baller. To me it makes sense to just cash out the 20 million or 18 million and go wing it, and then leave 1,000 Link for 20 years later in case you fuck up, and by then Link would probably be at $10,000 anyway so it wouldn’t even matter if you fucked up.Smaller stacks with say 3,000 Link it makes total sense stake. Link is at $1,000 and you have 3 million dollars. No room for error at all here. You stake your link and have 90k per year after taxes coming in like clockwork. That’s enough to live poorfag comfy but not enough where you aren’t motivated to make more. In fact, you could go balls to the wall spending 60k/year in high risk investments and even if you lose it all on a particular year it doesn’t even matter cuz you got that stipend coming in every year. You just start over. You have a purpose still. And this would be a lot more fun and meaningful if you do hit cuz you’ll have done it yourself which gives you pride. The guy making 500k year doing the same thing and getting lucky and doing well doesn’t matter as much cuz you already got 20 million staked. Doesn’t matter if he makes an extra million.
