$65,000

This is now the minimum amount after tax someone needs to make to not be falling behind.

Discuss.

Double it for survival
Triple it for living like your parents
Quadruple it for thriving

Al Jazeera right now is talking about the increased prices of meat and vegetable oils and how farmers face increasing prices.
The average person is fucked.

OP has multiple demoralization threads on the catalog now. He's not even trying, they use the same "65k" phrase and image names.

How does the demoralization work though? Wouldn't these posts scare people into upping their game? Whether that's performance at their job, asking for the promotion, or just reevaluating their impulse purchases in favor of stacking whatever it is they stack.
But yes, three posts on the same topic is suspect.

average is a retarded metric, median is what is actually relevant

>after tax
Can you show where that chart says that

American median household income is $65k.

Common sense.

This is absolutely NOT the average hourly pay in those southern states. It's more like $15 an hour
>>
>average
Median is more relevant in this situation because the top 1% earns vastly disproportionately more than everybody else.

If you have 9 people all making $15 an hour and one guy making $500 an hour the average is $63.5 per hour. That doesn't reflect the real situation.
