Honestly believe Nintendo is grossly undervalued. Considering a buy at current levels. Thing is, I’ve never bought an ADR before. What are the advantages/disadvantages of buying an ADR
>>62212149Not buying that bing bing wahoo slop. Sorry.
>>62212149I tried this when it dropped to 16. Stopped out at 12. I would let it bleed for a while might go lower. About ADRS… beats buying on the tokyo exchange. Its 100 shares minimum on tokyo. Adr you can buy any amount. Only disadvantage is lower liquidity. If you want the actual shares use ibkr for tokyo, otherwise NTDOY is fine.
>>62212149Nintendo was trading around 3 dollars during the wii u saga. It can easily drop another 50% from here.
Sigh. Another goycattle trying to play the market. Tell me, goycattle, are you prepared to wait 13 years to see positive growth like the people who suffered through Nintendo's 2007-2020 doldrums? What makes you think Nintendo isn't still overvalued considering how overpriced so many tech companies are, and considering the historically unprecedented rise in Nintendo stock since 2023, a rise clearly disconnected from fundamentals? What makes you think you'll get better returns with Nintendo than the S&P? What is your actual strategy here, goycattle, other than consulting goycattle emotions and vibes like a crystal ball?
console industry is deadall they have is card gambling and when that goes Nintendo is dead
>>62212149>I made the thread again

>>62212149A lot of gaming stocks are undervalued because they're combined with the SaaS collapse fears.Nintendo is great. TTWO is also great because of GTA release soon.Roblox is down 70% from its ATH and below IPO price. Best value out of all those companies is unironically Ubisoft. Below book value by half (stock is 700b Euro while Equity is worth 1.8B) . Just a bit above IPO in 1996 (below if inflation adjusted). Ubisoft's IPO valuation on AC, Far Cry and Rainbow Six is worth 4.4Billion. Remake is selling like pan cakes. You cannot tell me Ubisoft is worth less today and is more risker today than it was in 1990's. It's unironically free money. I have invested $30k into Ubisoft. Soon more as I slowly take profits from all my semi-conductors/tech stuff. By the release of AC Blackflag, the stock will pop like crazy to at least 2-3 Billion. And next few years, it'll easily reach 10B as the restructing plan works on their games.
Good call op, buying leaps on monday
>>62212192You are putting 30k into a company that is a hair's breath away from bankruptcy because you think a re-release of a game from 2013 is going to moon the stock?
>>62212192Kek no. Ubisoft is a classic value trap. There are people smarter than you selling you the stock lol.
>>62212203Goycattle don't read reports. They read articles.
>>62212206>>62212207That's kind of my suspicion. There's bagholders with a little bit of influence in the media that know the ship is sinking and are trying to get whatever exit liquidity they can.
Nintendo is the best company in gaming, with the best IP, now and forever. Their balance sheet is godly, too. Plus they pay dividends.People have been doomers on Nintendo since the Genesis days, yet they keep dominating. Fucking idiots.
>>62212149arent they pivoting towards movies and themeparks now? I can already imagine more shows in the near future and a disney-like streaming service. not sure what to make of it. their mario movies did great tho.
>>62212245>bunch of goycattle words>meanwhile Nintendo's been consistently several percentage points behind the S&P for decades
>>62212166> 13 years to see positive growth I’m a long term investor. Not a poor that’s trying to trade their way up. Believe the memory issue will subside once the AI scam… errr craze calms down. I like that they’re getting into the theme park/movie business. I view them as a future Disney that also does gaming. Unsure current levels are the proper entry point, but I’m keeping a close eye on it. Was genuinely more interested in the ADR part. Taxation etc
>>62212192>ubisoftLol no, I have principals.

>>62212310That's fine>>62212224>bagholders with a little bit of influence in the media that know the ship is sinking and are trying to get whatever exit liquidity they can.Lol. I wouldn't be looking for exit liquidity in /biz/. Unemployed dudes who're extremely angry towards Ubisoft isn't good liquidity. It's a small portion of my portfolio, I don't mind it going to zero. The risk to reward ratio is skewed towards the upside much much more. >>62212203Yes. It's the most shorted stock in France. AC resynced is topping preorder sales chart globally. The sentiment is positive towards it. It'll essentially give them a huge breather to pay off a lot of the debt without laying off huge portion of their employees or selling their assets (which they have more than the debt) or selling IP 3 of the IP(valued at 4.4 B which is triple the debt without including most of their IP) It'll easily be at least 1 to 1 book value, which is 2 billion. Easiest 150% return in few months. All the restructuring they've done and bringing back their old devs from successful games will help the company climb back to 10b easily in 5-10 years. The stock is easily free money if you think about it rationally instead of "I HATE UBISOFT DEI WOKE" lens. The company has more studios around the world than EA, which EA is worth 60b atm.
>Ubisoft’s 73.68% stake in Vantage Studios, plus expected royalties, is worth far more than the total market cap of Ubisoft itself.I agree with ubi-shill. That's pure insanity on the market's side.
>>62212166How are they not printing money from PokeBug cards?
>>62212608maybe the market feels those assets will decline in value going forward
>>62212149buying Nintendo cheap has been a good move forever. keep an eye on it because there is still a chance it declines more on sentiment/currency/shortages issues. Only a total full bets against them long term.
>>62212149>>62212192>Best value out of all those companies is unironically Ubisoft.Gamers are so fucking stupid it's unreal. Ubisoft is a dying company, 9/10 of their projects don't make enough money. Nintendo is not going hard enough to diversify their businesses so that's why their stock is so low in comparison. They need to invest in something besides entertainment. This is why when you see something like Konami's stock being so high because they diversified in health care, gyms, and were heavy into pachinkos before they died but then soon they're planning on working with MGM Osaka to have their own gambling machines just like what they did in Las Vegas. Now Konami is a major diversified company where they have their own animation studio, sports and gym centers, esports academies (scamming gullible kids), and are soon rebuilding their games studios while also whoring out their IPs and make low budget but successful games or projects. Never buy a purely gaming company unless it's a meme one like Take-Two since GTA 6 is going to be a huge cashcow.
>>62212547>there's more upside than downsideYou are aware that shares can go to zero right?

I agree. I don't know of any other corporation with fundamentals as good as Nintendo. They just dropped the fastest selling gaming platform of all time that blew past all previous records. This stock dump is probably due to saudi investors getting bombed by iran or some shit and having to sell their assets. Or perhaps the jewish investors who thought Nintendo would collapse and they could buy 51% of the company are now realizing that was a pipe dream and exiting.
>>62213330Nah Nintendo is very different than apple. Nintendo actually innovates, Apple just steals Nintendo's innovations. For example Nintendo made the first commercially successful pocket-sized wi-fi compatible touch screen gaming device. Only after Nintendo cleared the way Apple copied their homework.
>>62212161Switch 2 is the best selling game platform of all time, Wii U sold poorly. It's a totally different state of affairs.

Also several of the games they have on offer look better than anything on PC, for example Metroid Prime 4 and Mario Kart World.

>>62213536I'm just saying, this shit is a good investment. The value is there. When Nintendo drops a mario or zelda game for Switch 2 people are gonna lose their shit. Keep in mind that when they revealed Tears of the Kingdom, the reveal was only a few months before the release. They are trying to avoid announcing games a long time before they release now. So changes will come quickly and it will be a shock to people when they see how good the graphics on the next Zelda will be, it will make everything on PC look like a joke.
>>62213534>Buy the thing that pumped already>Don't buy the thing with massive potential and good odds but hasn't pumped yetYep we're in a /biz/ certified hood classic thread
>>62213510>>62213530Started watching it at $13. Decided to not pull the trigger. In the $10s I’m still hesitant. Probably going to start buying in the mid/low $9 range. If Nintendo plays it’s cards right, I see potential for decent gains
>>62213542Metroid had a 78 on Metacritic. Bananza didn't even crack 90. The last Zelda (Echoes) was the lowest-scoring in Nintendo's history of Zeldas. The dev culture has become poisoned by the shitty zoomllenial worth ethic. The old guard is retiring (Tezuka retired yesterday). Women are being promoted recklessly (see the Echoes dev). The upper management seem utterly clueless about all of this.
>>62213503Software attachment rate is under 2 so far. Thats bad, maybe the worst for any Nintendo console in 40 years through its first year. This conpany is barely making any money on hardware
i went to see a palm reader and she told me that in 2030 nintendo will fuse with valve to release their games on PC, effectively ending console gaming and all alternatives to steam.

>>62213235>You are aware that shares can go to zero right?>"I don't mind it going to zero"Do you know how to read? More upside doesn't mean stock will bounce up and down. It means the reward ratio of it being 0 is close to impossible due to it being backed by Tencent, having enough equity to pay off the debt, having IP's 4 times worth more than the debt. >>62213213>Gamers are so fucking stupid it's unreal. Ubisoft is a dying company, 9/10 of their projects don't make enough moneyWow what thoughtful response. Except it's not 9/10. It's been the last 4 games due to them being complacent with selling 7/10 games which made them a lot of money for a time. The entire company has restructured, they've gotten old game devs, quality controller much stricter. You can easily see it in AC BF Resynced and majority of the game was still made under the old team. Also, Tencent isn't going to let their 800m (and additional 1 billion on IP) dollar investment just go into flames. Ubisoft made a deal with the board (including Tencent) to not be takeover by Tencent for 8 years in 2022 to allow for a turnaround. This deadline is in 4 years. Tencent will want to fully take over the company by 2030 and have every incentive to not allow the debters to take their investment and IP.
>>62213925Nintendos Market cap is below Activision when it got bought out for 69Billion. I doubt Nintendo isn't worth 55B.
Gaming is dead. All new games are something redone and done again, remakes and remasters, nostalgia bait and whatever. A lot of old IP are being killed by woke shit. A lot of people are just buying emulation consoles and playing old games. The last console generation with a huge amount of good games was ps2 (just for example: gta3, gta vc, gta sa). After that, the games that people are playing like crazy are the ones that people are addicted for decades like cs and dota.

I don't fully get it.Nintendo makes most of its money from software sales right? That side is hardly affected by hw issues. They might lose profits on console sales and the worst thing being diminished install base growth which affects the game sales.Have they really been that overvalued? They are not going anywhere and their games will continue selling millions.
>>62213213It's why we see sony getting into cars. When IMO they need to get into appliances since the margins are better.
>>62213320Yes, but so far Nintendo is going full hollywood and theme parks, which isn't ideal. They should go harder on other shit for the stock to go higher, Switch 2 sales are already in a decline.>>62213977>Except it's not 9/10. It's been the last 4 games due to them being complacent with selling 7/10 games which made them a lot of money for a time>Last 4 gamesLook at the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubisoft_games:_2020%E2%80%93presentI want you to look at the list here and dare if any of these are successful besides maybe AC Shadows, which isn't a smash hit as they would've wanted to get out of Tencent. If your only successful product line is from the AC series and nothing else, then you're looking at a company that's in the brink of ruin. Tencent will wait for Ubisoft to keep shooting itself in the foot until they get every worthwhile IP of theirs for cheap. I'm not saying this for you by the way, I'm saying this for everyone else not to be retarded and buy Ubisoft stocks.>>62216426Appliances are hard when they have stiff competition from Korea and China. Sony owns Music labels, animation studios and various many things but they still need to downsize to become more profitable. Their phones are non-existent, they're making joint operations with TCL on TVs now. If anything they need to look at Panasonic and just downsize and focus on extremely profitable industries and not bother with anything else.

Nintendo neglects their core business. It's fine to really want to make money on licensing. But it's not fine to let the game's unit languish. They deserve to be beaten down.
Zoomers and Alphas aren`t buy trash like Milenials manchild.Their games run better on android emulator than their own videogame.
