I only learned about it two and a half years ago, if i knew in 2019 what i know today about investing i would have made it already.
Fucking shit parents man....
>>
>>62213331
Everyone here would be rich if their parents had put 1% more effort into making it during the boomer bull decades. I have a theory that most people want to NOT make it because deep down they feel they don't deserve to make it.
>>
>>62213331
you have to start now and pick one company, like AMD that actually runs the world and keep buying or find your appropriate risk
>>62213336
it's not that they don't feel like, they are programmed to not realize fiat is a trap and it's not wrong that it's purpose can be a trap because you should know better
>>
>>62213331
you're super smart. just make it now.
>>
>>62213344
>all in to AMD at 4 sigma above its 50 day moving avg
great idea fucking retard lmao
>>
>>62213375
op is a smart guy now, he knows to DCA
>>
>>62213331
yeah and now everything is at ath
last moment to get rich was last year with sandisk it's over for us
>>
>>62213331
love my late father
but when I began learning about stocks and crypto over scamdemic, my dad admitted to me he had never bought a stock before and had no idea how it worked
it did however, lose 10k in a realestate investment scam
I really don't know how the jews destroyed the normie, pleb boomer mind to such an extent.. this guy had a lifelong career as a sales VP and never bought an actual investment ever
i only even say this cause it's important to talk about how much the boomers messed up in general
>>
>>62213382
Well there will be always opportunites in long and short. But i have the feeling that the level of difficulty is going to increase a lot in the next few years.
>>
>>62213344
AMD's chart gives me fucking vertigo. I sold at 250 having done a 2x. I cant complain that much, this latest rally was very much unexpected.
>>
>>62213331
I missed everything and have been sidelined since 2018. I bought Link at ICO and sold for 3x profit to get into a rug pull that made me lost everything

market was at an ATH in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2023, 2025, 2026
>>
>>62213417
there you go. you fucked up. it had nothing to do with your parents.

>>62213410
yeah you cant look back with perfect 20/20 vision at the future lmao.
>>
>>62213375
moving average is irrelevant in this scamwick market. at least with something like AMD you are buying the internet, nvidia was always a scam. unfortunately.
>>
>>62213435
Look, doing a 2x profit in a speculative position (AMD trades at 150 times earnings in a market obsessed with AI), is far from fucking up.
I did a 3x with silver and bought back at a much lower price. You cant be perfect but you can do well. That aint fucking up in my book.

6 years of straights ath, who's gonna be crazy enough to all in after this?
>>
You're in a mental paradox. You're only saying this now because the mega mania of '17 and '21 got your attention and made you interested in investing in the first place. If GME never happened, if SHIB never happened, etc., you wouldn't even know what the word "investing" ever meant, because you wouldn't have given a shit.
> everything just crawls up extremely slowly in a straight line
That's what would see and you'd say "pfft whatever". By the time you were interested in investing, you already arrived at the top of the hype bubble when everyone else heard about it and hence way too late to make any solid money. To make the life changing gains you are talking about, there was nothing going on pre-'17 so you had to take a wild guess that something huge would happen and just throw a bet on it.

tldr; hindsight is 20/20 and yes, luck is a real thing unlike what confluencers tell you "it's all SKILL bro!!!!"
>>
>>62213435
How can he fuck up though when hindsight is 20/20 and any person with common sense would've sold after a few of Trump's twitter tirade trampoline market manipulation maneuvers?
>>
>>62213331
>dad always bought me investment books when i was a teenager
>had me pick a stock when i was like 12
i've never even thought about it. but your understanding of money really does depend on your parents. and your trust of financial institutions and stuff like that.
very easy to have a dad who puts everything in a shitty savings account, thinks the stock market is only for millionaires, or is inherently risky etc.
>>
>>62213331
The thing with this kind of threads, is that if we told you now, what to invest, that would moon in the next few years, you wouldn't do it.
>>
Honestly if I just skipped crypto gambling I would've done a hell of a lot better.
>>
>>62213938
Fucking wild that you people do this. At least with stocks, you rarely get wiped out. You just grow slower than you'd hoped. But with crypto, people lose tens of thousands easily. Over five decades of S&P compounding, $50k gets you a million dollars. So every time you lose $50k, think of it as your old self losing a million dollars. Hard to process, but true.
>>
>>62213331
Honestly I knew Nvidia would moon way before the AI era began because they were closest to a monopoly. The problem was I had no money and didn't knew/care about finance.

Only a certain few an be rich. It means holding a disproportionate amount of resources while the rest hold a lot less. This is basic economics. How fucking stupid are you.
>>
>>62213331
woulda, shoulda, coulda,

doesn't help, hind sight is 20/20, but you can't change the past, only focus on the future.
>>
>>62213331
You have no idea. The world has changed so much since your parents were in your position that they have no idea either.
I'm GenX. My parents gave me books like the Richest Man in Babylon and Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and the Millionaire next door, which have great broad, basic general advice that's ultimately useless when it comes to specifics of what to actually do.
When I started working in the 90s, I was taking home $5-600 a month.
If you wanted to invest back then you needed to have a lump sum of $2k to do anything besides leave it sit in a savings account. Want to buy a CD with 7%? Minimum 2k. Want to open a stock brokerage account? Minimum 2k.
So even if you save up 10 or 20% of your income, you won't have the money to invest for several years. Maybe you could buy some $50 savings bonds to hold on to for seven or ten years.
And even then once you get started investing in the market, every trade cost $50 or more in commissions, so you just buy once and leave it. If you buy and sell a small position, that's $100 off the top of whatever you made on it straight into your broker's pocket, so here's hoping that you made more than 5% in gains on your $2000 stock purchase.
It's actually really frightening how easy it is to get started today.

Anon, we ARE a certain few.

I knew about Bitcoin like 15 years ago but I was a child so I wasn't really in a position to do anything about it. I made some money during the boom times but not that much.
